I got started in healthcare at 15 years old. I started by taking care of my mom, as she had mini strokes & had to go to therapy. I would go to therapy with my mom & then help her with therapy at home, then I helped my dad get his stuff ready to go to work every morning. After my daddy left for work I'd take a nap just before going to school. I enjoy being around elderly people, having conversations, helping them with daily tasks & being a companion to them. I've been to school to be a CNA, a Certified Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Tech, Emergency Medical Technician & hopefuly one day finish achieving my RN degree. I'm also a mom of four grown children & I have nine grandbabies. I enjoy taking care of people of all ages. I specialize in caring for people with disabilities & Alzheimers/Dementia disease. I'm a great caregiver cause I care about to well being of my residents and make sure they are well too care of and am there when they need someone to talk to .I've grow up around nurses and doctors and specifically my momshes a lpn and she worked at nursing home and assisted living places and I would volunteer during the summer and the outings and then I became a housekeeper at my moms job and then became a caregiver

I love what I do to help others that need me. I have a passion to be there in time of need to help others. I am able to help thru daily tasks that needed. I am proud to know I was able to help and be there for all care. Also that I did a good deed. To know that they was satisfied and comfortable.

This is what matters when becoming a caregiver to your patient. Compassion. When someone has compassion for another they have an understanding of what the person is going through. Attentiveness. It is important when providing home care that the caregiver is attentive to the needs and changes that are taking place. By being attentive, the caregiver, will notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the person he or she is caring for. Dependability. Those who need home care don't usually just need it sporadically. Rather it is on a regular basis, so it is imperative that a caregiver be dependable and show up to provide the care that the person needs and is counting on. Trustworthiness. Caregivers are often in a position that will allow them to have access to the belongings of the person they are caring for. It is crucial that the caregiver be someone who is trustworthy and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person her or she is caring for. What attracted me to be the caregiver I am today. Well, when I was 13 years old, my Father was diagnosed with cancer. So at that age I would watch the hospice nurses take good care of my father until the day I asked, if I could learn what they knew so when the nurses are not there, I could assist. I love being a caregiver to help other people who really need it. I want to be able to care for them the way I want to be cared for if I should need the care some day. I love helping others in need. My personal achievement is on a day to day bases. CNAs are responsible for the wellbeing of patients from the time they are admitted to the time when they are discharged.

I am loyal to my work and dedicated to be the best caregiver for any family.I took my route into the caregiver field because when I worked at APF, I fell in love with assisting the children with the things they could not do for themselves anymore. I enjoy assisting others and making them feel as if they are still independent with everyday life skills. I am most proud of myself for completing my 6 week training at Schmieding & remaining dedicated to help others.

I am a 54 year-old mother of two and I have a grand dog. I became a caregiver because I truly believe in giving our elderly quality life. My mother had a stroke and through taking care of her I'm able to fully understand the importance of proper. I've specializes in care of dementia patients and stroke patients for over 15years. I enjoy reminiscing with them through music, doing activities going on outings. I'm very outgoing ,upbeat and caring.

I'm also certified and successfully completed the cognitive skills evaluations in accordance with the curriculum of the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) Program.

I'm caring, patient, compassionate, trustworthy and very dependable. I've been a caregiver for 11 years and what attracted me to being a caregiver is the fact that I enjoy helping others. Caring for others is a second nature for me. The personal achievement I am most proud of is graduating college.
