I have a kind spirit and making sure people are cared for properly has always been my main focus. It wasnt until highschool that I knew how to get started in a career that allowed me to do that. I've been a volunteer caregiver since 2019 and became certified and paid to do it starting December of 2020. Being as young as I am; I always had little nagging feelings about whether or not I was making an impact in patient's lives. It wasn't until I looked back at all the families I've cared for, as well as started working in a rehab facility, that I realized how much help I provide. I've had patients become emotional and show how grateful they are that I'm able to be so kind, patient, gentle, and humane all while making sure they are being taken care of fully. I believe that to be the thing I enjoy most about myself as a caregiver. It isn't "just a job," it's taking the time to help people who need it and treating them as the worthy people they are. I started out in the health field in 2008 working with the disabled people.. From the ages of 5 and up. I worked with people With autism I work with people with behavior issues, CP cervical, to people with diabetes cancer Strokes Alzheimer dementia I work with people with catheters G tubes pretty much all the above I love what I do I started out as just a support provider and now I'm a Certified nursing assistant, now currently state certified Patient Care Tech, I am currently in school for Radiology Tech. I definitely love my health career and plan on staying in this field for a while

I originally became a caregiver to make sure my mom was going to be well taken care of when she got a certain age. Some years ago my girlfriend got sick and needed assistance with someone who could help her with feeding, dressing, hair care and house cleaning. Not knowing what I know today back then, I was still able to fulfill that gap and enjoyed myself while doing it. What I like the most is the smile that I leave on my clients face daily. My personal achievement I am proud of is completing my certification. Not only am I able to take care of my friend and/or my mom when need be but I now know a lot more than I did when I started school. I am 56 years of age. I love my job in taking care of any one who may need my help. I have a warm heart. I complain of nothing or no one. I am a very hard worker. I come early and stay late. I love a challenge.
