One of the most important traits I possess would be patience, in this field of work you need a lot of it. You need it in order to be able to help the individual with the best care possible. Some other traits that help me be a great caregiver are trustworthyness, compassion, attentiveness, and dependability. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my mother. She has been a caregiver for 20 plus years and has tagged me along since I was about 4. I loved being in that atmosphere and what goes on. I learned many things from being around elderly people for the majority of my life. I enjoyed being able to build that relationship with them. I enjoy being able to talk about their lives and what they did and admired most. I love being around and being able to help someone now that I have the ability to do so. A personal achievement I would be proud of is in a couple of months I will be the first in my family to graduate with a bachelors degree.

As a nursing student, I have over 2 years experience with patient care through my clinical practice. These skills include but are not limited to obtaining vitals, proper ambulating techniques, documenting, and supporting patient needs based on patient care plan. Furthermore, through these clinical practices I was able to attain my Certification as a Nursing Assistant. I did become a cna after my mother died and i didnt have the chance to be there to take care of her. I like being of service to those people who cannot help themselves and be their daily assistance in their activities. I have been a CNA now for 16 years and it has been a great experience to work with dementia ,alsheimer and disabled pacient and help them in their particulars needs.
