When someone I am caring for is successful in achieving a goal, that spells success for everyone. I have believed that giving a handup to people who need one is why I'm here and spent most of my working life doing just that. I've been fortunate and believe in giving back, in brief I am client centered. Knowing that some people need a "life coach" to help them achieve a goal, that's what I do. I'm very proud to share a story about a young woman who met "the love of her life" on line. He was from another state, and between her guardian and myself we helped fill in the details and she got to take her first flight to meet her young man who now lives in Vermont and will someday become this young woman's husband.

Been a diabetic since 5 I've had people helping me when I couldn't help my self and now it's my turn! I've been a LNA since 2013! I love helping others!

* What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver. I enjoy interacting and investing time in the clients hobbies and interests. I have given all levels of care, from elderly (including but not limited to Dementia) to disabled, and TBI individuals. I have been a medication technician in several previous postions, as well. * What attracted to you being a caregiver? The diversity of the clientele and the needs they have. I find that I easily connect with the people I work with because I listen and can adapt to each individual and their needs. * What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Spending quality time and making my clients feel as independent as possible. Such as achieving goals, running an errand, making a meal together or even something small. If it makes them smile and helps them that means the world to me because I assisted in making that happen. * What is a personal achievement you are proud of? My children. My greatest achievement is how well they've grown. Helping them become the people they are. Seeing them progress and having them tell me about how they've used what I have taught them to succeed. I like to inform my clients and their families ahead of time: I have colored hair (currently pink and purple), a nose piercing and modest visible tattoos. I'm happy to wear long sleeves and/or a mask if it makes anyone uncomfortable. My pay is definitely flexible. The app would not allow me to leave it blank. I possess a high level of attention to detail as well as a willingness to do what needs to be done. I always go above and beyond my scope of practice to help my clients achieve the maximum level of independence while acting as a supplement to their abilities. In my opinion, assisting with activities of daily living goes well above and beyond just personal hygiene and meal prep. It means helping the client stay engaged in the community as desired. Getting out and continuing to be active as able. I excel with clients and families that are looking for high quality care as well as compassion and drive to achieve. I like to push for whats possible and work well with a family and care team that is actively involved with day to day on goings and encourages client to maintain maximum health and independence regardless of affliction or disability. I've been a caregiver since I was 18 years old. I took care of people with special needs. I started nursing school when I was 20 years old. I graduated when I was 24 years old. I was a nurse for 15 years and then my grandmother got sick and I became her caregiver. I believe a caregiver is there to do anything for the person that they care for. Anything to put a smile on their face. I've taken care of babies with trachs. I've taken care of seniors with dementia. And I've also learned that you take care of the person and the family.

I became a caregiver because I love making people smile and laugh! As a caregiver, I am able to spend one on one time with each client, and structure my time to meet their needs. I have worked as an LNA for over 16 years!! I also, took a phlebeotomy course, worked with clients with trachs, blind and deaf clients, dementia/alth clients, activity asst and a rehab tech also in the past!! My two children are my life!!! when I am not at work we are outdoors enjoying the weather!
