I started of in the caregiving field with taking care of my grandfather. In the process I got to learn a lot and I did enjoy doing it. I treat every client like my own family with love and compassion. Every client had different needs, so I get to understand the client first and foremost. I mostly enjoy the learning process in caregiving, no matter how long one has been a caregiver, we get to learn new things every time. I once had a client who had dementia (late stage), who did not want to go to bed (it was late at night). One thing that the client enjoyed was watching animal documentaries . I showed the client pictures of different animals that I had taken when I went to Kenya and the client calmed down and I was able to redirect the client to bed. My patience with the client helped me assure the client that I was on her side. This scenario really made me proud of the caregiver that I'm becoming. I love what I do.

I have about 32 years of experience being a caregiver. I use to own my own Caregiver agency but, it took me away from providing personal care to my clients, I decided to give that up so I could work closer with the client. I've provided care for individuals with MS. I currently work part time for the State of Washington as a certified Care Giver & I have a couple of part time clients . I feel & have been told I'm a great caregiver because I think of others first, filling the needs of others before myself. I think the best way to be a affective caregiver is to really have consideration for the fact that, it could sometimes be Very humiliating having someone to provide care for you & to treat others as you want to be treated. I always talk to my clients and helping them to see that I do understand how it feels to be able to once have done things for yourself and now to have to rely on someone else. I also forgot to mention that I have a daughter who lives with me, she's now 30 and she's been on dialysis for about 10 years and so I have quite a bit of experience in the medical field. I was also certified as a CNA for about 20 years I am not currently certified but, have loads of experience working with the elderly, I've worked on my own, in nursing homes & hospitals. I've worked for the State of California in a Veterans home for about 10 years just prior to me coming to Seattle. I've been in Seattle for 14 years.
Skills & Certifications: Alzheimer's Disease, Arthritis, Cancer Recovery, Cardiovascular Disorders, COPD, Dementia, Depression, Diabetes, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Home Health Care, Hospice Care, Multiple Sclerosis, Orthopedic Care, Post Surgery Recovery, Renal and Urological Disorders, Stroke, Respiratory Disorders, Tracheotomy / Ventilation, Vision and Eye Disorders

I have compassion and empathy for my clientele. I became a caregiver after I came to this country a while ago and I immediately loved it. I like caregiving, because I get to make a difference in someone's life by the end of the day. Personal achievement is the friendship that I have with the clients and their families.

Before I thought that I was a really patient person because I used to take care of my love ones, friends, neighbors, etc even when they've shown bad actitudes or behaviors or situations that you really need to understand , love , and accepts and be able to just offer them your help. But I realized that is not just patience what i need , is also compassion, and consciousness that we all need each other's as a human being. I think this is the most important part for being a great caregiver . When I discovered that ,I deside to become a caregiver ,and I love to be part of all this wonderful ladies, and gentlemen life's that I have been able to work with. I feel so blessed after so many years helping getting all the knowledges ,wisdom ,kindness, and so much love ,etc from them. I moved in from California six years ago and I still feel heartbreaking from my clients that I left back there but I have been in touch with all of them and that make me feel better, I have some references from all my clients and the agencies that I've been working with from California and now from my clients here in Shoreline,Seattle and Edmonds area that I've had the privilege to work with. Feel free to contact me directly through the CareLinx app Messenger and i can answer your questions.

Born and raised in Johannesburg South Africa. Graduated my BS Biology (premed) in 2021 from Southern Utah University. I have been caregiving for about 3 years. Caregiving has been a rewarding experience because I get to know clients while making a positive impact in their lives . I'm always enthusiastic, patient and always pay close attention to a client's personality so I best serve their needs I'm most proud of being selected as my university commencement speaker in 2021, feel free to check out a cool article they wrote about me in the university website to get to know a little more about my other achievements. Fun Fact: outside of my academic life, I run a non profit organisation in 2 countries that deals with healthcare accessibility for women and children in rural areas. My work with my non profit got me listed as one of the Top 200 young leaders in my country in 2020. I look forward to meeting clients and doing my best to ensure that they are happy and comfortable!
