I started of in the caregiving field with taking care of my grandfather. In the process I got to learn a lot and I did enjoy doing it. I treat every client like my own family with love and compassion. Every client had different needs, so I get to understand the client first and foremost. I mostly enjoy the learning process in caregiving, no matter how long one has been a caregiver, we get to learn new things every time. I once had a client who had dementia (late stage), who did not want to go to bed (it was late at night). One thing that the client enjoyed was watching animal documentaries . I showed the client pictures of different animals that I had taken when I went to Kenya and the client calmed down and I was able to redirect the client to bed. My patience with the client helped me assure the client that I was on her side. This scenario really made me proud of the caregiver that I'm becoming. I love what I do.

I began caregiving because growing up, I had a parent that looked to me for support. That stuck with me and really let me see how much my help supported another person to live their life more fully. I enjoy getting to know new people and know everyone has a story. I like to use my abilities;as small as they may seem to me, may be a larger help to someone else sometimes. If I could work and bring my cat with me that would be great. I feel working with mentally disabled individuals and other illnesses has opened my eyes to how amazing people can be and how much they can shine with just a great support team. I feel my clients help me just as much as I help them. I will work hard and do the best I can with your loved one and family member.I have stayed safe by washing my hands, masking, changing my clothes when I get home. Thank you for considering me.

Hello I tend to be more on the positive side like to see the person smile. Getting to know the person listening to the person telling me about the amazing life. I had a brother who passed from cancer and a mother who passed from dementia. After caring and helping both mother and brother I felt very compassionate for others. Spending time with the person listening to the life stories or experiences they've gone through. The person in my care having a Positive experience while in my care.

Born and raised in Johannesburg South Africa. Graduated my BS Biology (premed) in 2021 from Southern Utah University. I have been caregiving for about 3 years. Caregiving has been a rewarding experience because I get to know clients while making a positive impact in their lives . I'm always enthusiastic, patient and always pay close attention to a client's personality so I best serve their needs I'm most proud of being selected as my university commencement speaker in 2021, feel free to check out a cool article they wrote about me in the university website to get to know a little more about my other achievements. Fun Fact: outside of my academic life, I run a non profit organisation in 2 countries that deals with healthcare accessibility for women and children in rural areas. My work with my non profit got me listed as one of the Top 200 young leaders in my country in 2020. I look forward to meeting clients and doing my best to ensure that they are happy and comfortable!
