I started caregiving over ten years ago and found out that helping other people In there time of need and to make them as comfortable as possible was what I wanted to do in life. I'm very responsible, attentive and reliable. You can contact any of my former clients or their families and they will all tell you that I become family. I've worked with Child care, autism , Alzheimer's, dementia, cancer patients, stroke and the elderly. I take them to doctors appointments, physical therapy, grocery store. I do light house keeping. Prepare all meals. Medication reminders. I assist with all bathroom needs.

I chose caregiving because I am in school for healthcare; I love science and my emphasis is epidemiology. More than anything I love to hear people's life story, I feel caregiving provides the bridge to form a special trust, and experience another person's life. Caregiving enables me become more familiar with empathy, and to more intimately recognize the reality of the human condition.

I have compassion towards the elderly and children most especially those who are in need of help with their daily activities. My first experience as a caregiver for the elderly was when my sister and I took turns in taking care of our 83-year-old mother. Moreover, I am confident with taking care of kids because I raised my own three boys (they are all adults now). Aside from being a caregiver, I am active at our church being part of its ministry. Hello! I never set out to become a caregiver, but as the only child to older parents (dad 55, mom 47 when I was born), perhaps it was inevitable? I moved home from working abroad to help my mother, taking on increasing caregiving load as her dementia progressed until her passing in 2021. My experience runs the gamut from companionship and outings for errands and fun for a patient still very sharp and active, to the personal hygiene, feeding and care for a bed bound patient with end-stage dementia, and everything in between. My main caveat is, all my experience is with the same patient, my mother. I hope to parlay my experience to be of assistance to others--having been the sole caretaker for my mom, I know how exhausting, frustrating and stressful it can be. I am confident in my ability to safely lift, carry and move a patient up to 120lbs, and can provide assistance and support for heavier. Native English speaker, can communicate in Japanese (not quite business level), understand some Mandarin (elementary level), understand a limited amount of Taiwanese and Spanish.
