My career was in business. I retired at a young age. I went into the health care industry from a suggestion of a relative who worked at a large local hospital. I worked there for 6 years and cared for hundreds of patients each having different illnesses. This background caused me to decide I would like to become an independent provider due to my experience. I particularly enjoy caring for elderly men with dementia. What I've found is their long term memories are interesting and have heard interesting stories especially from WWll veterans. I try to become "part of the family" with each patient. I try my best to help each patient maintain their dignity, be comforting, gain their confidence provide friendship and assure a safe environment. In all my past working experiences caregiving is my most satisfying.

What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver? I am naturally patient, compassionate, dependable, and attentive. I pay close attention to people's needs, both physically and emotionally, and I believe kindness and understanding are very important when caring for others. I also stay calm under pressure and make sure the person I'm caring for feels safe, respected, and comfortable. * What attracted you to being a caregiver? I was attracted to caregiving because I enjoy helping people and making a difference in someone's everyday life. Being able to support someone, especially during times when they need extra care, feels meaningful and rewarding to me. * What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? What I enjoy most is building trust and connection with the people I care for. I like knowing that my help can bring comfort, improve someone's day, and make them feel valued and cared about. * What is a personal achievement you are proud of? A personal achievement I'm proud of is being someone others can depend on. Whether it's showing up consistently, staying strong during difficult situations, or helping others when they need support, I take pride in being reliable and giving my best effort.

I been working in home care field since I was 17 I'm 22 now I love what i do I clean cook every day living I work with all different people elderly , disable / mrrd/ special needs . You name it . I do transportation bathing groom .I am cpr certificated and medicine certification. I i been with people that are easy upset , behaviors , and beyond bad behaviors. I feel that I am a great caregiver because I am patient, understanding, a great listener, compassionate, and very caring. I believe in treating people the way I want to be treated. I am a positive person, I love to smile, and laugh. I am also trustworthy, supportive, and encouraging. When I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer (Stage 5) 6 years ago, my one and only Caregiver by the name of Barbara, was the absolute best. She took very good care of me, and was such a joy to have around. One day I told her that when I get better, I was going to become a Caregiver too because she was such an inspiration and blessing to me and my family. I am a natural born nurturer, and I love taking care of people. It gives me such a fulfillment in my spirit to know that I did something that day to make someone's life a little easier. I am proud of the fact that I was able to complete my courses to become a Certified Nurses Assistant 2 years ago, and I plan to go back to become State Tested to enhance my skills and knowledge in this particular field.

There is not a time where I'm not wanting to make someone smile[?] I have the biggest heart and I wear it on my sleeve!! I enjoy being a caregiver because it allows me to give back to the ones that once cared for little ones.. I enjoy being their helping hand and just that extra help.
