Hello my name is Olivia. I am a mother of 4 last 2 girls are attending Westlake High. I am bilingual, I enjoy being a caregiver i get to know my clients and help them to continue doing their hobbies they once use to do. I love to listen to stories they have endured while growing up. My clients I care for I take care of them as I would my own family. I was born & raised in San Marcos but moved to Kyle a couple months ago. My clients are mainly from Austin,Tx. My specific areas I have had my pleasure of working with my clients were Westlake/Rollingwood, Brookdale on Mesa Dr. / Baltierra / Querencia Assisted living/so many other places. I have been doing caregiving since I remember the first time my mom got diagnosed with being a diabetic I was about 15. So I learned about it by going with her to her appointments. So about 25+ yrs. of experience as I got older I cared for my mom then later my father til they past. I love taking care of others sometimes I wish there were more of me to help others. I have done it all from tube feeding to hoyer lift, Companion to bed bound. I do have a pharmacy tech. trainee certificate. If any more questions please do ask. Home health to me is so much more than just a job. Its the ability to help people, lighten their families stress, new friendships, and to bring a little joy to them. I got started helping my G. Aunt, who was a home nurse, when I was younger with our own family ailments. My uncle an Gma both had a long fight with cancer; My father had multiple sclerosis; my mom a diabetic/work aholic with heart issues; and I also learned all about dementia an Alzheimer's first hand from caring for my G. Gma. Understanding what the patient is actually going through is essential, but Understanding the hardships the family goes through caring for a loved one is a important key in there loved ones care. Number one rule an my most important one is I always care for a client as if I were caring for my own family. I treat clients and patients as I wish to be treated, honesty, patience, and respect. After graduating high school I worked for hospice care for 2 years before taking a much needed break, (it hurt to much when it was there time to move on). Almost 6 years ago I went back to the same company but chose home health care instead . I worked with them 3 years as a special attendant. The rules became a headache to keep up with their contestant changing so I decided to go elsewhere. My current employer I have been with for almost 3 years. I am a hard worker and I learn fast. I have experience with most medical equipment including: hoyer lift -auto/manual, catheters/cholostomy bags, blood pressure cuffs/pulse ox/thermometers, oxygen machine and portable oxygen bottles, walkers and wheelchairs/electric scooters , bed alarms and hospital beds, etc. I do document visits with clients so families will be able to refer to book for any questions or concerns they may have about any shift, past or current.

I am a Great Caregiver because I put the Clients needs before my needs. My main Priority is making sure my client is Taken care with High quality care and is Happy and comfortable. I became a Caregiver because I have a big heart and I really care about helping People. I enjoy going to bed at night knowing I made my Client smile and met their personal needs to keep them going.

After working 6 years as a Physical Therapy Assistant,decided to move to Texas.After working differents jobs,I started feeling unhappy.Decided to start working as a caregiver to be able to help others. My personality traits that make me a great caregiver are that I am kind, understanding, and patient. My attraction to caregiving is being able to help someone who can not help themself. The thing I enjoy most about caregiving is that I'm able to to feel better about what I've done and who I am and get paid for it. Oddly enough my greatest personal achievement has not come to pass. I'm working on it every single day--I'm always striving to be a better me.

I was a CNA for 12 yrs. I have worked in mostly nursing homes and Memory Care Centers, but I did go into home health care. I like to do home health care because you get to know that one individual. When your working for that one individual, you're able to focus and be more attentive to that patient's needs and wants. I believe what makes me a great caregiver is my experiences, my compassion and my willingness to continue to learn. I like to find out more about my patients, what they like, listen to them not just see them, but hear them out. I'm a hard worker. I'm trustworthy and I always do what I say I'm going to do. Reliable and a hard worker. The best thing about being a caregiver is knowing I help someone have a better day by just being there for them.
