I became a care giver because I love working with people especially the elderly. I love taking care of the elderly and I love the companionship. They have so many stories to tell and they still have so much to offer. They have sent their lives taking care of people and it's time for someone to care for them. My greatest personal achievement is obtaining my CNA license. It is the first thing I have started and finished since high school. Also, being a mother is another thing that is important to me. Most of my experience has been as a private caregiver. I found my passion as a caregiver over 20 years ago when my father needed hospice and I saw the lack in the basic caregiving. I recently moved back to south carolina and board of nursing has proof of my paper work but needed transcript from National Healthcare of greenwood, when i contacted them they said they didn't keep with records over 10yrs. I recently just started to work with agencies because I did not have time before. I have been accepted into the nursing program this fall and I am so excited. The most I enjoy about being a caregiver is providing a happy environment at my patients time of need and building a great relationship with them. My heart lies with the elderly. I started working at a nursing home before later accepting a job at Self Regional.
