I am a natural nurturing person. I I decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a nurse or a doctor. I had a grandmother that suffered from Alzheimer's disease for 13 years. Majority of the time that she was sick I cared for her. I always knew I needed to get into the health field because I saw how important it is to have a support system. When you have someone in your family who can no longer take care of themselves it seems to have a ripple effect with everyone surrounding them. At some point we could no longer take care of my grandmother in the house so we had to hire a home health aide and in doing so I really grew to appreciate the nature of the job. You become an extended family member you grow great bonds with your clients or patients and their familes. I love being an aide.

I became a care giver because I love working with people especially the elderly. I love taking care of the elderly and I love the companionship. They have so many stories to tell and they still have so much to offer. They have sent their lives taking care of people and it's time for someone to care for them. My greatest personal achievement is obtaining my CNA license. It is the first thing I have started and finished since high school. Also, being a mother is another thing that is important to me. I am a mother of 2 lovely children I am 31 years old. I work at the Abbeville Nursing Home.

Hello I'm 27 years of age and I love being there to assist with the elderly simply bc I had to watch my grandmother go through so much with brain cancer, dementia, and not being able to care for herself. That made me realize the gift I had been given to take care of the disabled and challenged elderly.

Hello! I love caring for an individuals needs. I'm kind, considerate and patient. Ive worked with a variety of individuals from elderly to young disabled adult and hospice. Most of my experience has been as a private caregiver. I found my passion as a caregiver over 20 years ago when my father needed hospice and I saw the lack in the basic caregiving. I then saw a need for caregivers who actually care for the individuals and their families.

I always get told at my job now that I am really good with the residents their and that I am always smiling and positive about everything. I have always had love for caring for others. I have taken care of my mother when she got sick up until she passed and I now take care of my grandmother. I love working with elderly people because i love to hear all there stories and get to know them and laugh and talk. They are so sweet and know a lot about life and they can teach me things i never knew about. It is a great opportunity for anyone to work in this field. An achievement that i am proud of is working where i am and what i am doing with my life. I get to help others and help someones family member.

I took care of both of my grandfathers then I went on and got my CNA certification but then I decided to start as a home health aide. I love being with people and doing for them . I then became a medical technician at a.c.t. pharmacy in portsmouth, va. 2006. 2009 i graduated from everest college of chesapeake, va with a massage therapy degree. I have worked in hospitals, nursing homes, and in home care. I enjoy taking care those in need. I'm dependable, honest, hardworking, patient, fun loving, and caring. I recently moved back to south carolina and board of nursing has proof of my paper work but needed transcript from National Healthcare of greenwood, when i contacted them they said they didn't keep with records over 10yrs.
