I moved to North Carolina 8 years ago to be closer to my own aging parents. In 2015, Dad became wheelchair bound with Parkinsons and Mom was no longer able to care for him. I rolled up my sleeves and made the necessary renovations on my home there and moved them both in with me. I pushed pause on my nursing studies and was able to spend some great quality time with Dad before he passed away a week before Christmas in December 2018. Mom's dementia had been progressing, so I became his sole caregiver and provided for his every need until he "graduated." Three months later, Mom had a massive stroke rendering her the equivalent of a three year old. No longer able to dress, toilet, or feed herself or even articulate what she needed, I stepped up to the plate again and began caring for her 24/7 until her death one year ago. I would not trade even a millisecond of the time I was able to be with my parents. It allowed me some great moments with each of them and helped me fine tune my skills as a professional caregiver. I would like to introduce myself as a candidate for the Caregiver position at Josephine Gardner' Home. As a highly empathetic and caring individual with extensive experience in the caregiving field, I am confident that I can succeed as a Caregiver for Jojo, I also provided home health care for a rotation of 10 patients per week At Aloha care ( Hawaii ) five days a week. My responsibilities included light housework, giving baths, preparing small snacks, reading to patients, helping them around the house, helping patients use the restroom, providing companionship, keeping track of appointments, and feeding patients. I am very passionate about the well-being of my patients. I believe that the elderly are a valuable and important generation, full of wisdom and knowledge and that they need to be cared for and protected. During my young years, I served as a primary caregiver for my grandmother. As a frail woman in her late 80s , she needed a lot of assistance with most day-to-day functions. Since I was there more than my parents, who both worked full-time, I took it upon myself to be her caregiver. The more time I spent with her, the more I realized that although her body may not function, her mind was an ocean of stories and wisdom, waiting to be explored. I will always cherish the time I had with her and the things she taught me. I would like to thank you for your time and consideration. After a career at 911, I knew I needed to find a new career where I could continue to help others. I love being a companion and listening to anything like life stories, jokes, and music. I'm passionate about caring for others. Not only does it make me feel good & important to be making a difference in someone's life, it also brings me so much joy when I'm walking out of a client's house being thanked & praised, seeing that smile is a must or my day isn't complete . I am a family oriented person. Everything I do is for my family and how it will help us progress into better people. I'm very social and have great listening skills. I keep myself alert all times when I'm working. Making sure that my workspace is safe and clean. I'm very positive and even on my off days, I try my best to keep a positive attitude. I love helping elderly people or helping people in general. I'm an LDS member and I can't count how many missionaries I've seen on the street that I've stopped to greet them and even take them out for lunch or simply to conversing with them before they go on about their day. I am actually the first person in our family to become a caregiver, and along the way my husband too, had an interest and have gained experience in that field. The thing I enjoy most about caregiving is spending time with my client and assisting them in anything they need. Over the years while my experience has developed I've learned to love each of my clients while caring for them. I do grow close to all my clients that I've worked for and I love putting a smile on their faces. I'm a reliable person and I'm very honest. I have strong communication skills and would do anything for an opportunity. I think my biggest personal achievement is becoming a stronger member in the church. Making sure that I lead a good example for my children and for their future. However, whatever offer I receive for any future clients I will be grateful for the chance that's given to me!

I have an excellent work ethic and I'm detail oriented. My personality easily lends itself to senior care and companionship. I have a neuroscience and cognitive science education background and am training to become an Occupational Therapist.

I have been a caregiver for 16 yrs i love taking care of people growing up i was the oldest so i had to take care of my mother who had many health issues and when i was 17 i got into the companies and did live in this is where my heart has always been i want to be a register nurse one day. I have great references took care of some clients pravite as well. I have a lot of experience in this feild.
