I am very compassionate about this kind of work. I have 2 1/2 years of experience with working in a nursing home, assisted living home, and as a home care provider. My mother has been a caregiver for 20 years and so I guess it's in our genes to want to help people! I have a huge heart and I care about helping folks who need a little extra help or even just companionship. I enjoy building relationships with each of my clients. I think the most important part of this job is to listen and to be their support system and provide the best companionship as possible. I am proud that I have decided to choose caregiving as my career path because it's natural for me to want to care for folks. I am kind and extremely giving. I take care of everyone as if they were my own parents. I have taken care of my own quadriplegic son at home doing things I never thought I would be doing, but out of love I learned everything to take the best care of him that I could. I started caregiving after my son was shot because who could take better care of him than me. I decided to become an C.N.A, and took extra classes so that I could be prepared for anything, and enable him to be independent, and lead a full life. I enjoy caregiving because I am making a difference in someone's life , be it small or large it makes my heart happy to be able to make someone smile and help someone in need. I am most proud of my family and the values I have instilled in them to give what you can or help others. I am also proud of going back for training and getting my C.N.A. license.

I have honestly been some sort of caregiver since the moment I could move. I officially (but techinically unofficially) started caring for elderly at the age of 13. My mother was a private in home care aid and took me along for the experience. I have done many professions, but nothing was as rewarding personally, as caregiving. I've always just wanted to be that one experience, person, caregiver, that anyone has met and think... there is light, warmth, and love, where it seems to be too uncommon.

I had always work with customers in a store setting. That just wasn't challenging enough for me. I wanted to do more, help more. I had an opportunity to take care of my grandmother when she became ill. It was the greatest feeling to be able to put a smile on her face while helping her. It just felt right knowing I was helping in a way that she was able to do by herself anymore. But with my help she was still able to enjoy the life she deserved.
