I come from a family of individuals who have dedicated their life to the bettering of less fortunate individuals. A mother who has worked with mentally handicapped children for over 20 years, an aunt and uncle who currently care for and assist mentally handicapped adults, and a cousin who also works with elderly persons to better their standards of living and independence. This instilled in me a sense of compassion for those who cannot care for themselves, and motivated me to join them in this mission. My favorite part about being a caregiver, has been those times when I was able to help share an experience with someone who otherwise may have never been able to enjoy it again in their lifetime. I also enjoy gaining insight from the wisdom that my clients have obtained over the course of decades before me. I especially am drawn to persons who have served in the armed forces, and lived through some of the roughest times in world history. They are the true hero's in this life, and often don't get the attention they deserve. While I recognize that certain tasks involve some level of discomfort for many individuals, such as bathing and even simply inviting a stranger into ones home, I have become accustomed to these struggles, and have learned how to minimize that apprehension, while still maintaining the clients decency and feeling of privacy. My goal is to provide the support needed to give back whatever the client feels they have lost, and give peace of mind to family, knowing that their loved ones are safe even when they cannot be there for them.

As of October 4, 2022 I'm current with all COVID-19 vaccine shots and on Oct 4, 2022 I got the newest booster shot. I have been a IP ( Independent Provider ) Hospice/CNA nurse for 10 plus years now after obtaining my license in 2011. But been a caregiver for over twenty years now. My certification includes experience working with Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Cancer, Autism, Mental Health, Nurse Delegation, Sundowner's, Stroke/Brain Bleed, Stroke with AFO brace, Cerebral Palsy, PSP ( Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) and Diabetes. I am CPR certified. I have my own transportation, non smoker, and have a clean driving record. I love working with people, but my passion is to work with senior citizens. I enjoy reading, cooking, scrapbooking, listening to music, love doing puzzles and playing with my three small dogs. I am handy in both house and yard work. The part I love most about what I do is the smiles and enjoyment that I can see on my clients faces from the care and help I give them. My most recent work has consisted of taking care of a ninety-six year old sweet lady with Dementia/cancer. I was certified in November 2019 after attending a CNA training program in Hawaii Job Corps (Oahu, HI). In the program I was able to attain my HIPAA, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Basic Life Support. I have since then attended Western Iowa Tech where I received my prerequisites for Nursing 1. Because of the pandemic I decided to take a break from school to work and make ends meet. My Hawaii certification unfortunately expired before I could have it transferred so I have been working as an uncertified caregiver . Luckily for me, it's something I've always enjoyed doing. I do hope to get state certified soon because I take pride in this line of work and the relationships I build with my residents. [?]
