I started by taking Family leave from my job as a Bookkeeper, to care for my Father. I thought at that point 5 years ago, hey I would like to do this for a living. Two years later my Father passed away and I lost my job and began caring for my Mother. At that point I decided to go to school and become certified. Received my CNA in 2013. Have been working since then and love what I'm doing. I am caring, dependable, fun, positive and energetic. I am a team player and can also take the lead. I love to cook, bake and juice. Since I was a young child I was raised around my elderly family and I loved to help them walk or just do fun things with them. I babysat at the age 9, I just always had that trait in me to take care of others. I took care of my aunt at the age of 17 I had never had training to do any kind of caregiving work but I learned as I went along. For 9 months I cooked for her, I cleaned her wound, drained the bags that were in her incisions, med reminded, bathed her in bed, washed her hair in bed, I changed her in her bed, cut her diabetic toenails and assisted her to and from dr appointments. My aunt suffered from hepatitis C and diabetes. That's how my journey of becoming a caregiver began. I went and took a home health aide class at Castro Valley adult school and got hired at my first company. ComForCare Senior Services in Castro Valley ca. I took break for 7yrs to be a stay at home mommy in 2012 and now I'm ready to get back to work and doing what I love and that's helping others who are in need of help.

I'm a great caregiver because I love my job and helping people. I was attracted to being a caretaker after taking care of my mother for ten years who had cancer. My favorite part of my job is being a companion. I have often felt like a family member to my clients. A personal achievement that I am always proud of is when my client improves because of my positive attitude and the exercises we do or day trips. I also make an excellent cup of tea.

I been caregiver since 2011 till I got the certificate as a Certified nursing assistant to medical assistant now on going to vocational nursing assistant. It's my passion to take care elderly because I feel it they are my family as my grandmother.
