I have worked in the healthcare most of my life. I became a DSP around 2003-2004 I loved it so much that I went and got my CNA license nursing homes for a few years. But then decided to take time off to take care of my children. Not realizing that I let my CNA license expire. So I went back to the thing that I love my DSP job at Glenbrook in Vienna , where I knew and loved everyone there. But I decided to dip my hand into the cooking career got my certifications and have been doing that ever since. I am energetic and hard-working. I put my everything into what I do and their isn't anything that I can't accomplish when I put my mind to it . Cook DSP, CNA , mother , bestfriend, daughter I've pretty much live the life of a caregiver this is my life and I love every min I will continue to do for as long as I can. I am a caregiver because I love people. There are not enough people to give care and attention to folks who need another set of strong yet gentle hands. I like to listen, talk and generally make people feel important and worth while. Caring giving is rewarding work. It makes me feel good when I can ease a burden and make someones day better because I was there. I am very proud of my ability to make friends and win trust. I worked for a nursing home in Iowa. There was one resident in particular that was hard for CNA staff to get along with. She wasn't very friendly at first but I squatted down in front of her, and explained this was the job I chose to do because I love helping people. She could see I was sincere, and warmed up to me knowing she wasn't a burden to me, and I liked helping her. I am in my second semester of school for Respiratory Therapy. I am love being in my yard gardening. My first grandchild will be 1 year old this July 21st. I'm a pretty good cook and a tidy house keeper.

I have 8 years of Geriatric Care in Nursing homes, Assisted living facilities and in home care. I enjoy helping others and will continue my education to become a nurse practitioner and be able to provide health care to various ages of life through my career.

My name is Alexis Vojvodich. I go by "Lexi". I took a job at Addus home care is what stole my heart and let me know that helping the elderly live a well life was my passion. I worked there for a year and i workd at Reflections Memory Care at the same time. I loved my clients/residents so much. I absolutely love getting to grow close and share my life with clients and I love that I get to help them live. Most elderly raised a family their selves, being a caregiver I feel like it is what they deserve, which is getting taken care of, just like they did their families. The achievement i am most proud of is getting the experience of helping with Addus and Reflections so that I will be able to care for the people that raised me to the best of my ability. The money isn't what draws me to this job, it is getting to show people that they are loved and getting to help.
