I am happiest and most fulfilled while caring for others. I fell in love with nursing in 1978 when I started my first job as a Nursing Assistant. I found that I was not only doing a job, I was caring for a person with an extensive life history that I could learn from. People who had family who loved them but were no longer able to care for them. I went on to get my LPN in 1986 and finally RN in 2012. I have provided care in Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Centers, private care in homes, Home Care through agencies and have cared for my patients and their families with integrity and compassion. Aging parents have caused me to reevaluate the need for flexibility and the availability to now also provide care for them. This means the typical nursing block schedule is no longer a good fit for my families needs. I will continue to provide compassionate care for others but it will look different than it has in the past.

I became a caregiver after losing my mom young to a rare lung disease. I have always loved caring for people before I became a nurse. I have worked with medically challenged, assisted living, home-care and hospital settings. I have a love and compassion for all diverse clients. I was nominee twice for Caring in Excellence at Ridges Hospital in Burnsville MN. I always want family members to know their loved one are in good hands and I think of them like my family. I am very detailed and have excellence attendance. I am a hard worker and people feel they can count on me. I love to cook, garden, play games, and go for walks. I am very laid back and enjoy making people happy.

I am a current student at Metropolitan State University where I am doing my bachelor in Human Service with the commitment to helping others in the health care industry.

I love being a caregiver because our elders need our help because they can't do it on their own anymore. Seeing how happy they are when your helping them and taking care of them is the best thing to see on peoples faces is that smile seeing they are happy and enjoying them selves. I really didn't have attracted part of becoming a caregiver but once a few people told me to try it I have just loved doing it the last few years I have done it.

Hello my name is Jacklin Aud. I have been a caregiver for thirty years . Started working in Carmi Hospital/nursing home my junior year during my nursing class. I received my CNA licence at 16. Continued to work as a CNA throughout my junior, and senior year of school. I stopped to care for my grandmother. She was dying of cancer. I got married . My husband ,and I started a family. We moved to MN from Illinois. I decided to do home care unstead of working for a hospital, or nursing home. I've witnessed to much neglect in a nursing home ! I got my HHA licence . Then I started working as HHA in homes privately. I'm also a Pca for disabled children . I worked for Home Instead Senior Care for 4,5 years. I decided working privately for clients as a HHA is better than working for a company as a HHA. My job consist of taking clients shopping, doctors office, out for lunch,light cleaning, cooking, assist with bathing, and toileting. I work with hospice, and give medication. I love to care for people! I treat all elderly as if they were my own parents, or grandparents.

I am very passionate in helping others. I love to put a smile on anyone's face, even if for a moment. My mother is a nurse and I knew I always wanted to be in the healthcare field, watching her as I grew up. I cared for my grandmother for six years and my mother for a year when she broke her hip I also had a client I cared for until he passed away in December and I have worked with hospice several times once here with Tom and in Ohio I worked with hospice with several clients I just enjoy being around the seniors they have so much to offer and listening to their stories I really enjoy I also enjoy showing them things that I do and I like to involve them in things that I do and have them show me things that they used to do and do it I just get a lot of joy out of seeing them smile and listen to them
