A little over 10 years ago I got a call from my aunt while at work that my mom had almost fallen from a step ladder at my house. She was by herself and we had just lost my dad to his battle with cancer a few months prior so it was on that day that I quit my job as an event planner to stay home and care for my elderly mother. She has forever changed my view on the importance of caring for loved ones in times of need. My family lost a wonderful soul over a year ago and I find myself wanting to share my compassion, love, and assistance to other seniors who are in need because I believe in sharing this blessing with others to live each day to its fullest.

I became a caregiver because of my great grandma .she lived to be 110 years old.i helped take care of her. until she passed away. i truly enjoyed taking of her,it was so rewarding, after she passed away i decided to become Cna so can give same loving care to somebody. i love what i do. i have been care giver since 1997.

I have always had a desire to make a career out of caring for others. My dream was to be a doctor I wanted to save and help as much people as I can. Hi my name is Tammy and I would love to be your personal caregiver for your loved one mainly because I loved the older generation enlisting to them with their stories from when they grow up. You may ask yourself what am I getting from this well I am getting to be able to get to know your loved one for who they are. I once had a patient that had developing Alzheimer's. Every time I had to go home she would not let me leave without giving me a hug. In the end she knew me better then her own family. I always try to remind her who her family really was. I find caregiving you be a rewarding and enjoyable job.

Currently, I am enrolled in an accelerated nursing program at Roseman University of Health Sciences. I have worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant throughout Arizona from hospitals and clinical settings to nursing homes, assisted living and home health. I truly have a passion for caring for others and making a difference. I love learning and getting know new people as well as finding at least one thing to make someone who is not feeling so great feel better. School has not always been easy for me because of how expensive it is to go. I worked and went to school full-time throughout my first degree. I am most proud of overcoming my fear of going back to school and pursuing my nursing degree that I will finish by October 2015. Something about me is that I was born and raised in Arizona and I am the youngest of 4 and the only girl. I played banked-track roller derby for Arizona and was awarded Most Valuable Player for 2 games in a row last year.
