Helping my patient feel comfortable and relaxed. Letting him or her tell stories about the past,love,kids, what it was like in the old days. Being there for them when they need me most. I have experience with hospice patients, colostomy patients, Alzheimer's and dementia, stroke patients, bed bound patients, those with feeding tubes and catheters, Parkinson's disease to name a few. One family even told me that had I not been their loved one's caregiver he would not have lived to see his birthday! He was a 90 year old hospice patient!
