I've always wanted to be in the health care field since I was a child. Being a caregiver for 21years has been a very rewarding line of work. I enjoy helping people and am very compassionate to those who can no longer care for themselves. A gentleman I worked with would never sleep in his room for some reason so a couple of us transformed his room. We painted it into a planetarium and he has slept in his room ever since.-- felt great to make him happy and comfortable, it was a great achievement for me because no one else could get him to rest in his room. The joy of making others happy lets me know im doing my job to the best of my ability. I do have a provider number with the state as a PSW and I'm First Aid CPR Certified.
I am a compassionate woman. I believe maintaining dignity and respect for all people. Especially, to those who cannot be as independent as they want to be. From personal experience, life can be forever changed in a second. I encourage independence when applicable and respectfully take charge of personal care. Every person is unique and their situation is equally unique. I avoid combative situations using distraction instead of response. I strongly protect every person's right to dignity, respect, love, compassion and PRIVACY! I am CPR certified. I am also a Chef who can cook, bake and decorate a cake for special occasions. Loneliness and isolation I respond with kindness and humor.
I believe Caregiving is a gift not just a job,I love working with the client as well as with the family so the person can get the best care possible and being in communication with the Doctor(s),I also want to know the person well enough to know if something is different and/or has changed in health and mind state.I love working with a person long term and using my gift of humor and compassion to help improve one's quality of life. I have been in health care for over 10 years and I still believe that EVERY PERSON is different no matter the health challenges,I have a Provider Number issued by the State of Oregon
Hi, thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me. Giving care to someone is more like being their greatest advocate, they let me know what they want, need, and can do in their lives and I do my best to achieve this with them. I am very adaptable to follow protocol, or be spontaneous within the allowed guidelines. Safety, respect, listening, assisting are all just basic musts and needs. I am pretty strong, love exploring or relaxing at home. I enjoy making those in my circle feel cared for and unconditionally accepted, it gives me a peace. While medical assisting for six years, I noticed a decline in the kind of care for the vulnerable and assisted patients - It weighed so heavy on me that I decided to change careers. I found a new passion for learning about all the diagnosis' I saw in the clinic and how people adapted to living with them daily. I took every hard case on... loving the challenges. I took as many syndromes and specialty needs as I could and that helped me learn how to approach each person as an individual no matter what their challenges were. All that said, I have many moments that I can say are my favorites, but it comes down to being blessed by those I work for. I stated earlier I am adaptable, and that means I bring a nice and varied background, but I am more interested in learning about the next person who selects me and how to weave my experiences to make their life better, maybe even fuller.. any way I can. Thank you! Vicky
I have many years of caregiver experience and many happy clients. I enjoy cooking and baking, bringing the family together over a special meal, helping clients get reconnected safely in the community or doing what they use to enjoy. I am confident in dealing with many medical conditions, personal and bedside care. I enjoy talking but am discrete and sensitive to the person's personality and preferences. I also help with ironing, basic housekeeping, organization and other necessary household needs as needed.
I enjoy helping people and supporting them to live the lives that they want to but are unable to on their own. I am a caring person, a hard worker and I pay close attention to details. I enjoy cooking and preparing meals and general house cleaning. My grandmother was a CNA at a hospital for over 14 years and I always wanted to help people like she did. I have been in the Health Care field for over 14 years , I started out as a CNA and found my way into the ID/DD community and I love it! I am licensed through the State of Oregon/ DHS and currently have my Provider/Personal Support Worker numbers through DHS and CDDP/CCMH for Developmental Disabilities.
I love being a caregiver taking care of the individual that can and can't perform their daily activities, that's why I'm there to help.. I Iook on the bright side of things and try to bring joy to a persons life. I have taken care of a lady and her husband for 5 yrs. she had dementia, bipolar disorder and sun downer, I handled that situation with patients problem solving and trying to keep everyone happy. After her husband died I was their for support, companionship. I didn't hover over her - I gave her space but was near by to keep her safe.. I love learning new things about people. It's a great achievement to help out the family with their loved ones. I don't have a problem with taking the person on errands, Dr. appointments with my car or theirs. I like to take walks with the person I'm taking care of, wheelchair or walker. When I'm not care giving I like to read books, walk and go hiking..And catch up with friends.. My recent work has been taking care of a person that is bed ridden with MS and uses a hoyer.

I've worked as a Care Giver for more than 15 years. I have an extensive amount of experience, and I am honest and committed to my work. My mother was why I'm so motivated to work as a care giver. I loved my mom, and as she grew older, I've helped and assisted her continuously, and I recognized the skill and effort that is needed for care giving. After that, I took classes and started a job with DHS. My employers are always happy with my work, and I'm always there to help, and I'll be there when I'm needed.
Caregiving isn't for everyone, you have to have a great love for it and your clients! I've received Employee of the Month and Nurse Delegation certificate. I work for 2 locations under my company because I enjoy working so much! I truly enjoy the people I work for! I enjoy cleaning, organizing, grocery shopping, helping people get around and anything else I'm able to assist with! I love animals too!
