Given a hand in any situation is a plus for me it makes me feel good as a daughter, mother, family members and wife I started out as a single Mothers over 20 years and I was encouraged to attend the nursing assistant course due to my personality and I never looked back, I also worked in Transportation for Pace paratransit and I encouraged and helped most of my clients to sign up for the services. I decided with the Experience I have in Health and Transportation I wanted to get my own Clients in the DuPage County area

Single mom of a teenager Started caregiving 6 years ago The people I have met has made me a stronger person and I love what I do, love the variety of people I have met , but in this job you have to be very patient and know how to deal with a lot of challenges and behaviors, are jobs aren't easy and you have to deal with stressful situations and know how to deal with them , every year we have to take are annual Training and refresher courses, my main specialty is Dementia and Alzheimer's disease, but that's why I love my job to help people and sometimes they need to someone to talk too, or just a shoulder to cry on, being a single parent makes me stronger in doing my job and know I have someone to live for and help older clients in there daily lives and endeavors.

It has been my privilege to lovingly care for elderly people with dementia, starting with my mother-in-law. I enjoy entering their world and showing them the dignity, respect and gentle care our elders should have. I have become the trusted companion of each person I’ve cared for, and have served several of them for years at a time. Support for the family of the person I am companion to is a special part of my ministry. I am currently a part-time seminary student and simply love people. My desire is to bring joy and wisdom in caregiving to those I serve.

I am very experienced in geriatric care, punctual and ensure the tasks are completed. I love to help people physically and emotionally. When my mother was ill, I was the one she would call to make her scrambled eggs. I took her to the swimming pool and hot tub to get exercise and relaxation. I cut her hair, took her to doctor's appointments and then lunch, and generally gave her some companionship. As I dusted her knickknacks, she told me where each was from. Mom died in 2002. When dad was ailing, some of my family tried to move him into assisted living, but he wanted to stay in his own home. I gave up my apartment and moved in with him, while working in publishing during the day. We had a great time together for a year and a half. Just after he died, I lost my job because I had spent too much time with dad. That evening, the daughter of a neighbor I'd assisted over the years called me, asking if I could help her mother. That began years of caregiving in which I have helped people stay in their homes, and enjoy life. I've brought my keyboard and played hymns and popular songs, singing with them and laughing. As a caregiver, I am simply happy to help my people stay in their own familiar setting. I believe the way I interact with them makes them happy. And my cooking makes them extremely happy! I built my cooking experience on my mom's, then learned to cook for fewer than 8 people! I edited three "Taste of the Country" cookbooks, working with a professional dietician who taught me many ways to fit dietary needs while providing tasty food.

I have been a caregiver for the last 18 years. I received my CNA Licence in 2007. I also have a degree in criminal justice. I enjoy being a caregiver it brings joy to me knowing I am caring for a person who truly needs me. I am able to do my CNA duties along with providing companionship.

I'm a compassionate hard working person. (CNA) I love helping people, especially the elderly. Helping with their laundry, light cleaning, cooking, running errands, taking walks, exercising when needed and most importantly reminding them of their medications. I enjoy doing this because I like to see them happy, smiling and comfortable every time. I've been caring for people in their private homes for over 14 years.
