I have always had great compassion for those who are sick, the elderly, and disabled. I began my caregiving by volunteering for Hospice for seven years. CNAs happily taught me how to do bed baths, empty urinals, and even how to change bed linens with patient still in bed. I am comfortable, and have experience in just about all facets of caregiving, which includes personal hygiene, including bathing, feeding, safely transferring patient from bed to chair, etc. I am comfortable using a Hoyer lift, and have changed and sanitized urine bags. Upon moving to a new city I began doing home caregiving as a way of paying my bills, and family recommendations kept me busy. I have enjoyed caring for the ELDERY with all kinds of medical problems, and DISABLED people, as well. In addition to passing the background check required for this site, I have a LEVEL II BACKGROUND CHECK which is far deeper than this site requires. I have taken and passed the HHA test, although I did not take the class. I am CPR certified, have had a two step TB test, I presently work for a local caregiving agency, but they are unable to provide me with enough hours, so I am eager to get full time hours! I have many references I can give if you are interested in knowing more. I prefer days, but I am open for any schedule.

I am a natural nurturing person. I I decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a nurse or a doctor. I had a grandmother that suffered from Alzheimer's disease for 13 years. Majority of the time that she was sick I cared for her. I always knew I needed to get into the health field because I saw how important it is to have a support system. When you have someone in your family who can no longer take care of themselves it seems to have a ripple effect with everyone surrounding them. At some point we could no longer take care of my grandmother in the house so we had to hire a home health aide and in doing so I really grew to appreciate the nature of the job. You become an extended family member you grow great bonds with your clients or patients and their familes. I love being an aide.

I served 4 years in the military, and I also went to college for 2 different degrees. I've learned a great deal in the midst of medical expertise. Passionate about quality and caring home care for those in need and desiring to remain in familiar surroundings during their golden years. I am an active semi retired caregiver. It has been said that I can work circles around those half my age. My background is that of a dedicated, hard worker that was taught how to be proficient yet caring in a time when a bedside manner was important. I started out as an aide and was taught and expected to manage in home care that today requires a two + year degree. I currently care for a gentleman during the week, part-time with dementia. After giving a two week notice my start date is flexible but I am available immediately for weekend position. I am an amateur chef. My passion is first and foremost my family. I am interested in genealogy, history, reading, journaling, gardening and non-political current events. I can hold an intelligent conversation and I am an excellent listener. I cared for my mother in home during the last six of her 94 years. She suffered with dementia, diabetes (insulin dependent), arthritis, incontinence and mobility issues. She wanted to spend her last days in her own home for which I am very thankful I was able to be instrumental in granting her wish. I have spent 30+ years, off and on, in the health care industry in positions of nurse aide and home health care aide. I have hospice experience. I value life and respect end of life wishes. I hope that as I age that I will have someone who will show me the same respect, care, empathy and loving commitment to my care as I provide to my patients.

I have worked in the health field for 45 years. I have a passion for caring for the elderly. I started out in high school as a Red Cross Volunteer at a local Nursing Home. I owned and operated my own Veterans Foster Home out of my Old Victorian 5 bed/4 bath Home on the Arkansas River in Colorado for 8 yrs.
