I help with meals prep, doctors appointments, passing meds, shopping errands, house keeping, showers and grooming of clients including pedicure and manicure . I have worked extensively with seniors with dementia, diabetes, alzheimers, Parkinson's, stroke and fall risks. I provide companionship and assist with light exercises and physical and occupational therapy . I have adverse knowledge on the use of hoyer lift too! I am a licensed CNA with over 15 year's experience as both an hourly and an in-home 24 hour caregiver. I have many year's experience in other related healthcare fields as well and am also a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have Nurse Delegation certification, BLS/HCP CPR and First Aid cards, as well as Mental Health certification. The last 2 1/2 years I've worked with predominantly one client providing care for all the activities of daily living (including transportation) and companionship as well as acting as a healthcare advocate. I've also spent 4 years with an Alzheimer's client providing in home care including physical therapy assistance and hospice. I have provided care for clients with multiple health concerns including hypertension, stenosis, heart disease, depression, paralysis, digestive disorders, and cancer. I also worked during my training in a nursing home. As a side note, I have learned tremendously for 5 years the many aspects of case management acting as a POA and Healthcare Representative/Advocate/Case Manager for a family member and other clients so am able to provide those kind of services as well if needed. I previously worked as a Veterinary Technician for 16 years and in a prior position provided at home medical care for my client's pet as well. I can also provide Clerical Support as in prior positions I reviewed/maintained medical and other records, facility admission/release forms and contracts, mental health assessments, legal documents, and auto and homeowner's insurance policies. I began working in a nursing home while in high school. I enjoyed taking the time to care for my clients in the home on a daily basis. For 40 intermittent years I have care for many different types of people who needed assistance and help with their daily lives. I very much enjoy caring for alzheimers patients and also dementia. I was created to be a helper, and that is what I am doing and I love it. My personal achievement is getting multiple degrees while having all these responsibilities in my household as a single mom. Making a difference in a positive way makes me feel good, when I was in high school my grandmother had a stroke and my mother and I took care of her, that is what made me feel so driven to care for others.. , Caring is a calling and I just love to see a smile in our loved once and bring comfort to their families.
