I have been a Registered Nurse since the age of 21 years old and have 35 years of Home Health nursing experience . I have experience in trachs, ventilators, gastrostomy tubes, cancer patient, quadriplegics and overall basic care. Im CPR certified and vaccinated for covid-19. I will take highest level of precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. I have been with one patient for 34 years and still caring for him. I'm caring, patient, compassionate and sensitive to my patients needs. I've also worked as a hospice volunteer for Sutter Hospital. I have also volunteered at The Marine Mammal Center for 18 years in the Intensive Care Unit for harbor seals. I had worked at Assisted Living and Memory Care Community for more than 7 yrs & as a Personal Care Assistant and Medication Technician. I assisted individuals on their daily living routine i.e. Dressing, grooming, bathing, escorting, preparing their meals, assisting on their medication management. Hi I'm April, I started out as a caregiver when my grandfather was in hospice care. Knowing he was dying I just wanted to make him comfortable and just simply care for him. I would say that's when I realize that I would devote my like to serving people in need and I believe that elderly ppl need it the most. I became a caregiver because I love helping people. Also because my senior year of high school my stepdad was in an accident and had a head injury and it made me want to help people in the hospital. I have lots of experience was a certified nurse assistant for over 20!years.was injured so went to school for medical assistant and realized I made more and enjoyed being a cna more.
