My father suffered a Massive stroke, with Brain hemorrhage in 1993. We were told he only had 2 hours to live.. Three months later we were able to bring him home from the rehab center. I was so impressed with the care he received at the hospital, and then at the rehab center, I decided to become a CNA. 2. I enjoy the interactions that I have with my residents, and their family members. I like knowing that I have made a difference in their lives.. 3. I was awarded employee of the month twice in a 5 month period.. And just recently I was able to convince one of my residents who wanted to leave AMA, that it would be better for him if he stayed and got the help and rehab that his doctor felt was necessary for him.. 4. I have been a CNA for 22 years.. In that time I have been able to work in all area's of care. I have worked Long Term Care, Short Stay Care, Memory Care, Transitional Care, Medicare/Medicade, Home Health Care, and Hospice Care..
