Hello, My name is Dana and I love being a caregiver because I enjoy making others happy.Even if it is something as simple as a favorite meal or activity, program etc. Since everyone is unique, listening and patiently learning to adapt to meet the needs of each individual has been the most helpful for me. Learning about their preferences and interests gives me ideas for activities they may enjoy doing during our time together. I have been caring for others for 10 plus years and have great empathy, insight and intuition. I respect the privacy and family of every person I care for. I love cooking and nutrition and can prepare many different types of food if desired. I started caregiving for elderly and disabled in high school for family friends for several families . I later was a pharmacy technician for many years and worked as a care taker for several of my customers. I was chosen because I was reliable, patient and treated them like they were my family.

I have tremendous empathy, patience and respect for each client. I treat each one as I do my father, whom I have been caring for the last 7years.Before caregiving, I managed restaurants for 23 years. I have ALWAYS been a customer service focused person. I wanted to make a change that fulfilled my heart. The thing I enjoy most about my job is assisting people with retaining their independence and self respect, even with a disability. Everyone needs to feel productive, like they contribute. The personal achievement that I am most proud of is that in the last year I have gotten my dad into the best mental, nutritional health that he has been in in the last 30 years.

Hello! I'm currently a CNA and EMT. The main reason I became a caregiver is because I want to make a difference in someone's life. I also just enjoy working with people and taking care of and assisting those who may have difficulty with certain activities. I have worked in both a facility and home setting, but I enjoy the home setting because I am able to be one on one with my patient to make deeper connections. I pay attention to detail and I'm very patient, I understand that sometimes there may be changes in plans and that things may not always go as planned, but I can adjust to any situation and make decisions that are best for my patient. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that I was able to become certified as a nursing assistant and as a home health aid, while working part time and going to school full time.

It is in my nature to be a caregiver. I worked in a nursing home at age 16 . Over the course of my life I have taken care of several elderly or ill family members or patients in nursing homes . I have experience with home hospice care as I took care of my mother and father in law who both had cancer and were home during hospice. I managed ordering medical equipment , medications and facilitated making schedules and medicine regiments. To present day, I have worked for the school district (38 years) I have worked with severely disabled , Autism , Down's Syndrom, Ms , and more. Familiar with Dementia and elderly . I am a 58 year old mother of Twins who turned 24 this April. Both children live out on their own and have made me a grandmother . My son works for Kaiser call center and my daughter works at Walmart . My husband and I were both born and raised here in San Diego and reside in Lakeside nearest to Santee. My husband works as a truck driver delivering dry wall. I work in Special Education at a middle school. I love people , children and animals. I also run a small cleaning business for private homes . I have many people who can provide references to my character and skills. I pride myself in being responsible , trust worthy , punctual and caring . I love helping others.

I have always been someone who wants to help others. If I can do something for someone and in the end, they are happy then I did a good thing. I have had several clients I've cared for through friends and family who needed someone. I started by taking care of my grandparents. It felt really good knowing they needed me and I was a Le to be there for them. It was very rewarding to me. When I was a little girl, my mom would take me and my brothers to visit my great-grandmother in a convalescent home. It always made me sad to see all these grandparents in these rooms who had no one to come and visit them. So I think that's when I decided one day I would like to go and visit them, even if it's just for five minutes just maybe brighten their day. Doing that, made me feel good that I could make someone else happy.

Being reliable, arriving on time, fulfilling my duties in a timely manner. Most importantly respecting my residents privacy and dignity. I enjoy being a caregiver because it is a very rewarding job, and you get to hear all the stories of your residents and their children and it was so pleasing to hear from your residents that their children feeling comfortable around you and have a good relationship with you, makes you feel like a honorable family member in a way.

Caring for my grandmother who passed away in 2014, gave me a better understanding of what the role of a nurse was. Seeing the passion and love for patient care sparked a career choice in me. I am a CNA who understands patients, who has no trouble communicating and understanding the patient's need. I am caring, patience and attentive when caring for an individual.

Hi my name is Kierra Mitchell and I’m currently in school to become a registered nurse. When I was younger I was in a terrible car accident and the nurses were what kept me going. This is when I knew I wanted to and would be a great caregiver. The compassion that they showed me inspired me to follow this career path. Nursing courses are tough and I’ve managed to maintain a 3.8 average and this is by far my greatest accomplishment. I look forward to providing excellent caregiving services to families in need.

When I was a caregiver for Atria I grew fond memories with the residents. I enjoyed having conversations with them, hearing them sing, or even see them dance. Even though work was busy I still managed to sit down and talk with the residents. One great memory I have was working the night shift and as I was doing my rounds I saw a resident in the dining room. The resident was pouring sugar into an empty cup. I sat down next to him and asked him if he would like a cup of coffee, so I made him one. He was very happy and singing songs.

I possess more than two years of progressive experience in the Caregiving field. From assisting patients with day-to-day tasks and offering physical and emotional support to providing companionship and enhancing their quality of life, my background has prepared me to excel. My ability to connect with individuals and establish trusting relationships, along with my strong interpersonal skills, position me to thrive. I have elected to pursue a career in the nursing field because I genuinely enjoy caring for others. I also enjoy being a part of a medical team in a professional and rewarding way. I am a nurturing person and very compassionate for people. I was attracted to being a caregiver because both of my grand parent's had Alzheimer's Disease and I played a vital role in taking care of them during their final years. Work about 3 years at Sun Rise resident My duties there were to • Bathe, dress and feed Patients • Plan, prepare and serve meals ● Clean and sanitize the Patients’ room and/or house ● Take Patients to and from school and appointments ● Organize and take part in Patients activities; games, crafts, reading and outings and exercises • Observe Patients behavior and make reports • Maintain a safe and clean environment and ensure that garbage is taken out on a daily basis • Maintain record of ward’s activities, behavior and symptoms for reference purposes . Give Medication as needed I'm also with the San Diego public Defenders as a legal support Assistant

The reason why a lot of families choose me to take care of their loved ones is because I always try to look at the positive side of situations. I really enjoy helping others so I always do it with a smile on my face. They like the warmth and familiarity that I have with the people they love. When I was a little girl I remember sitting down with great grandmother, while everyone else was playing outside. I remember holding her hand while she was laying in bed without being able to communicate. This really skinny fragile lady squished my hand letting me know that she acknowledged I was sitting there with her. This impacted my life ever since and it bring me great pleasure to know I can make someone feel cared for and loved. A personal achievement for me is to visit each home and learning from supervisors that the family wants me back. That's when I know that I've done my job well.

I have over 10yrs experience being a CNA. That is something I hold never and dear to my heart. I get to wake up everyday and do what I love taking care of other people it's just natural to me . I treat all my patients like they are my family. The love, dignity, respect, compassion, and understanding. What they deserve in life and now just can't make it on there own anymore so that's were I come in just like a daughter or just family should do but they can't at the moment or is out of there hands anymore.
