Aside from my years of being both, a personal and professional caregiver, I have found this to be rewarding emotionally, spiritually, and personally. My experiences have fulfilled my compassionate, empathetic, and nurturing nature. I have learned that all to often simple tasks that are taken for granted can make one question their self worth and leave them feeling like a burden. However, I truly believe that focusing on the positive with dignity, respect, and humility anything is possible. I advocate for those who may have lost their own voice. The greater reward, for me, is having the opportunity to be part of someone's achievements no matter how great or small they may be.

Hello! A little about me..... I was raised by my Grandparents on a Ranch so I am no stranger to hard work and good manners. I've been in the care giving field from the age of 22. At an early age I wanted to become a Veterinarian but when my Great Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer I found myself by her side every step of the way. After a summer of being her personal help I realized that caregiving came easy to me and I decided to help others. As a previous CNA and current state license caregiver with 8 years experience, I left facility work to work in private home care because I believe the care is much more focused on the client. The quality of care is specifically focused on the needs of the client rather than a system that is set up to focus on the overall profitability of a larger organization. The client receives the one-on-one attention they deserve. My compassion for people allows me to provide quality care while assessing the client and their needs.

I have a strong passion for helping other people which is why caregiving brings me the most joy. I am a very compassionate and empathetic person who thrives in an environment where I am needed. I pride myself in providing my patients with the best care possible and making them feel 100% comfortable and safe. I have experimented with many different jobs and caregiving is always the postion in which I feel the most achieved and pleased at the end of the day. I am thankful for the role I play and take it very seriously. I treat my patients as if they were my own family members and provide them the care that each person truly deserves. I have cared for many people and families, and making a positive impact and difference in a persons day, week, or life is always my main goal when heading into work.

I have always been an incredibly compassionate person. Care giving is something I am passionate about, and it shows with the impressions I have left with many families who's loved ones I have cared for. I am structured and responsible and can always be counted on to do what's expected of me. One thing that may set me apart is my creativity and the importance I place on encouraging hobbies (if possible) and trying to introduce new interests. I firmly believe these improve quality of life and love sharing these. A little about me personally...I'm a mother to 2 boys. I do volunteer face painting for children's charities as well as certain events for the city. I am an active member of the PTA and am on the board for little league. I have one year experience in an internship at an assisted living center in Modesto, California. I have also had a 6 month term working in dietary needs at a transitional care home in Turlock, California. After this I worked for two years in the in home health care setting in San Francisco, California. I am absolutely sure the care giving setting is right for me. I am currently a nursing student at San Francisco City College and love what I do. I am aspiring to become an R.N. and would like to continue working one on one with families and their loved ones in an in-home setting. I like helping people. I like to see people at their best at all times. It makes me happy when others feel and look their best. The residents I worked with felt comfortable with me as their caregiver. I gave them the much needed attention and time they needed. I am a certified nursing assistant. I am kind hearted, gentle, patient, good listener,and nurturing person.

I didn't always want to be in the medical field. As a child I dreamed of being an accountant. I went to school at first to learn the front in of a medical office to combine my accounting skills and quickly fell in love with Healthcare. I then ended up getting an associates degree as Medical Assistant. After I graduated in got to experience working as a medical assistant as well as caregiving. I quickly learned how much I love taking care of people and how rewarding caregivers is. It was not easy to quit as a medical assistant with the good pay but I was not happy. I quit as a medical assistant and never went back. I have since then been a full time caregiver and have worked many years in the hospitals but I found I am much happier doing in home care because I can focus more attention on 1 person rather than 12 + people. I am working on getting my HHA certification while I continue in school to become an RN. As a RN I want to continue in school so that I can do the same thing I'm doing now but as an RN and possibly work for Hospice. I would say what makes me a good caregiver is passion. This isn't a job for me this is my career and what makes me happy in life. I feel I was put on this earth to help others and make a difference it's one of the reasons I volunteer for Hospice. Nothing is more rewarding to me then helping those in need especially the elderly. If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask.
