My name is Charlin Kilbert. I live in Oceanside. I've been a cna for about 5 years. I just graduated from nursing school but am awaiting testing. I have participated in working with clients who had to get an Colonoscopy and Endoscopy checked , i worked in that field for a few months than i began going to a vocational college and studied Medical Assistant i earned a certificate and started working in a family practitioner clinic. how i became a caregiver is working with my grandmother for 3yrs who had second stage Alzheimer's . i did all duties of a certified caregiver would do . Non-medical duties to be exact . I have my CPR card, recent TB test , i have my own transportation. I am currently working in a care facility for elderly patients, my hours are sometimes mixed around but making time for your loved one isn't a problem. I am seeking PT work & weekends are compadable with my schedule .

I became a CNA / caregiver about 8 years ago. I like being able to help people who need help. I get great pride out of seeing someone else do well. I am proud that I am going back to school, and bettering my life.

I'm a great caregiver because I have a great amount of patience and understanding. I have spent most of my life caring for disabled children and adults. All I wanted was for him to feel better and to be with us a little longer . I am very caring and understanding I love being a caregiver, I understand seniors are going through many changes and mood swings but there isn't anything better but to show them love and be there for them, they go through a really rough stage where they don't even know who they are anymore and I understand that is very hard for them to have someone care for them when they were so use to doing everything on their own . I have had many jobs like being a nanny and a medical assistant but I can say that there isn't any better job position for me then to be a caregiver .
