I became a caregiver because, I like working with people, I am a very caring person. Being able to get closer and have a more personal contat with the person. Seeing how their faces glow when they like something. I have been a care giver for 6 years, Ive taken care of my brother and before I took care of a number of relatives including my mother. I have taken care of children also. I am 55 years old, I am spanish, I am bilingual, have lived in los angeles for 6 years before I lived in a small town in Mexico.

I became a caregiver because I knew that I could make a difference. I love helping people who can't help themselves. I love building relationships with my client and their family members. I have worked in convelecent homes and have done live in and live out jobs.

I am a naturally caring, honest and loving person. This is why this comes so easy to me. Nonetheless, I am reliable and careful when it comes to dangerous situations on the job. I am most proud of the moments when I was able to find a solution for the present problem at my work place. Like the moments when the pills where forgotten and we had to make sure that the next dose would not over lap the previously missed dose. I called my patients doctor found on the bottle and resolved the issue. I love spending time with my small dog and enjoy going on walks!

What makes me a great caregiver it's because I have always cared for family friends and now my child. I have also care and provided for my mother who is a new amputee. I have always worked in the medical field. I have volunteered at Mercy Southwest hospital for five years. Through the years I have donated my time giving back. I started industry by helping a friend who was desperately in need of help. I found it very rewarding to help others and enjoy being with them and resolving all their needs! Prior to this I owed a nail salon and was a licensed property and casualty agent!

Hi. My name is Ashley and I am originally from Fajardo, Puerto Rico. I moved to California 10 years ago to help care for my great grandma who was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. I can humbly say those were the best most rewarding 6 years of my life. I learned so much from her about life and how to be a good honorable person. She has since passed away, however the time I spent caring for her ignited a passion within me. In 2017 I decided to register with the state and become a home healthcare aide. I love the flexibility of being a home health care aide, and I also love bringing laughter and warmth along with me to each shift, and putting a smile on my clients' faces, the same way I did for my great grandma. :) I pride myself on my punctuality, trustworthiness, attention to detail, and organizational skills. I like to keep my environment clean and orderly, and I love to develop and maintain positive friendly relationships with my clients. I am a very compassionate person with a lot of friends and NO enemies. I have friends through all walks of life from young to old, party goers and home bodies. I love being a Caregiver because not only does it give me the opportunity to meet someone new and engage in building a relationship with the person I work for but also lets my true nature as a person shine! I play guitar, sing, and have dabbled with the Piano. Recently I began cinematography and photography. Hi There! My name is Jacqueline! I love being outdoors and helping out. I am looking to be a PCA! Im super outgoing and very attentive.

My grandfather is the reason I started. After he had a stroke and became bed ridden, myself and my grandmother took care of him in the home. Unable to stand on his own or walk for that matter we used wheel chairs and various techniques to pull him out of his bed and on to it. He dealt with dementia at times and some days were better than others as he at times did not recognize us. Feedings were difficult at times as well on those days as he had to be fed through a G- tube and his medicine as well has been given through it. Everyday vitals and exercises/stretches were done to help him remain limber. I also changed his adult diapers, cleaned his sheets and maintained his bedding positions as they varied based on each day. What I enjoyed about care giving is the opportunity I had to really learn how to properly care for someone who no longer are capable of doing somethings on their own. The thing I love most is hanging out with someone cool. I remember one day I decided to take him for a short drive for coffee, so I dressed him, put him in his wheel chairs took him to my car, put him inside and off we went for coffee. As I headed for coffee there had been a classic car show at my old campus El Camino College. After I grabbed my coffee, we doubled back parked. My grandfather loved cars as I do, mustang's and much more. I never had a chance to hang around with him growing up so I new taking him with me would have made him happy. It was one of the best days I had regardless if we couldn't talk about cars due to the doctors pulling all his teeth out. He died a while later while I had been working for Volt a ways away from here. That is the best and only memory I have of him/us of my entire life.
