I moved back to Westcliffe in 2016 in the best interest of my son. It was difficult to find full-time employment as a COTA in the area, so I went to work for the Custer County Road & Bridge Department. In 2018, I was able to stop working and devote my time to my son, as well as volunteer for CASA. As my son grew older, I decided to go back to work. I am currently working for the Custer County Treasurer's Office as Deputy Treasurer, which I truly enjoy, however I am looking to supplement my income.

I have always dreamed about working on an ambulance ever since I was a kid, which I am grateful I get to pursue now. I have extra time on my hands and would love to contribute that time into caregiving and helping someone who can really benefit from it. Taking care of others has come naturally to me as I always had to be the "bigger" person since I was little. I became a caregiver because I believe it was my calling. I became a CNA in 1992 and worked as one until 2012. My heart is in geriatrics and working with alzheimer patients. I love everything about being a caregiver! I love what I do and feel rewarded at the end of my day knowing I helped to make someone else's life to be just a little bit easier. I moved to Colorado on blind faith and in 6 months, took and received my GED, got a job in housekeeping, my own apartment and attended Otero Junior College, nurse aide program, where I recently graduated having received my CNA license as it had expired. And finished top of my class in Medical Terminology. I'm a hard worker and take a lot of pride in what I do. When it comes to my residents/patients, they always come first. I am eager to get back to doing the work that I believe I'm meant to do.
