In 2011, I completed 168cr hrs at Fayetteville Technical State College as a Certified Nurse Aid. I also conducted my clinicals and practical learning at the VA hospital in Fort Bragg, NC. I've certifications including but not limited to: CPR, Blood-born Pathogens & HIPPA. I pride myself on graduating in the top 1 percentile of my CNA class. I've spotless criminal and driving records and as required by law to work within any facility, Im a registered Caregiver with Palm Beach County and the state of Florida. This includes submission of fingerprints and passing a level two background check and FBI screening in all 51 states. I've in depth training in Memory Care and lengthy experience working with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, TBI's and nearly all symptoms associated with dementia and cognitive decline. Im efficient at scheduling and managing medical and diagnostic appointments. I'm able to assist with physical & occupational therapy techniques and transportation to and from appointments.

Ever since I was younger, I've had a passion for caregiving. Making someone better through love, proper care, and attention gives me joy. I am a very caring, attention orientated, and patient individual. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is I absolutely love caring for people. Most of my life, I've taken care of children. One family that I was a nanny for offered me a job taking care of their grandmother. They explained everything and I accepted the job. I had always wanted to be a lawyer as a child, but as I began to grow older and become exposed to the nursing field I knew that was where I wanted to be. I was exposed to nursing by my aunt, she would take me to work with her at the nursing facility where she was employed. Seeing how much the elderly adults praised and appreciated my aunt for all that she did for them, made me become a caregiver. I was taking care of a man who had an NG tube, he was having complications with the tube. A Nurse could not make it in time though, so I reacted to the complications and later learned that if I had not done so the guy would have died. That has been my greatest achievement thus far. If I had not reacted we would have lost our patient. I am a great caregiver because not only am I efficient but I am also compassionate about my job. I love being a caregiver because it is rewarding there is no greater feeling than knowing that you are doing all that you can to make someone else's life better.

My name is Jazlyn Cruz, and I love to help those who need aid. I grew up taking care my sick family members, always pretending to be a doctor by checking their blood pressure and taking their pulse. Today, I'm currently studying to become a pediatric doctor, but I like to devote my time to care for others. I volunteer in the emergency room at a hospitals, I also volunteered at a nursing home where I learned to care for the elderly. I'm a mom of five children all of school age. I have volunteered on many boards for several organizations. I used to work in an emergency room as an emergency medical technician. I left the job to pursue my college education. After graduation I worked for a few attorneys doing workers compensation claims, personal injury cases and premise liability cases. I left that those positions to seek my BS in Legal Studies from UCF. I was a stay at mom while my children were young. Over the years I have cared for sick and dying friends, relatives and relatives of friends. I took care of an ventilator dependent child, hospice type care and finally companion and first aid care. I'm ready to re enter employment now that my children are older and I choose not to return to the practice of law solely because of the enjoyment I receive from caring for others. I have never been arrested or convicted of a crime. I've been we been investigated for any criminal reasons. I have personal references from school board members, teachers and school administrators through the county school district. I also have references from local organizations I have volunteered at offering my assistance. I'm looking to care for a person in need so that the family can have peace of mind that I am taking care of their loved one just the same as I would one of my loved ones. I have a varying schedule and I'm eager to begin work.

I decided to take CNA/HHA course August of 2018 because it has been so heavy on my mind and that's when I realized I really enjoy helping people with skills and task that they maybe in need of. As a teen I use to go twice a week and help a Priest with his shopping and light house cleaning as well as attending Dr. Visits with him.
