Since a child I've always wanted to be in the health field , I grew up trying to help as many people as I possibly could . During my final year of middle I applied to the Academy of health professions program at Gainesville High School where I spent my four years of high school learning about the health field . Before Graduating I was able to sit for the state CNA exam where I earned my license and have been practicing since. What I enjoy the most about the health field is being able to make a change in patients lives . Even if I can't change their outcomes I know for certain I can change their moods and put a smile on their faces just by listening to what they have to say and reassuring them that I'm there for them . Everyone deserves to be in a good mood .

One of my personal achievements that I am proud of is doing what I like to do. And doing the best I can. The thing i like most about being a caregiver is that I get to talk and interact with older people. Giving them an extra person to have a conversation with. Some personality traits that help me become a great caregiver is that I'm kind, respectful, helpful, i always give my all and do my best. I'm goofy and like to have fun and play board games. What attracted me to wanting to be a caregiver is that I feel like I can learn a lot from older people. And hearing their life stories are so amazing and educational.

My name is Patricia Smith. My husband and I bought a half acre with a home on it. I live close to south mountain state park area. I am a licensed CNA and have been a companion caregiver since 2005. I have been helping elderly patients with Alzheimer's and dementia, both in assisted-living facilities and at home. I am very passionate about the elderly; I love to be around them and take care of them. I have great respect for their lives, treasure their life lessons, and am very thoughtful of the aging processes and the challenges they present. I assist with personal care, nutrition (I love to cook and bake!), medication intake, physical therapy exercises that have been prescribed by a physician, range-of-motion exercises, vital signs and any other activities of daily living. I can do light housekeeping, run errands and provide transportation. My goal is to make your loved one as comfortable and happy as possible.

I was a critical care nurse for 12 years in Orlando Florida, I am retired . I took care of my father with cancer for 6 years and my mother who had cancer a stroke blind in one eye for years. I also help the Amish in Ohio with elderly care medical instruction and medications. I enjoy working with elderly people and being an individual with mild fibromyalgia myself I understand and can relate to a person experiencing pain and disability. My mother was a nurse and worked until her 70,s. I worked in the funeral industry 6 years after retiring from nursing. I attend church pre-Covid on sundays and enjoy my grown grandchildren here in Greenville. I prefer to work afternoons and evenings or weekends.

I am an army wife, I have been married for 16 years and we have 2 teenage boys. I am currently finishing up my AA degree and hope to get accepted into the RN program, fall on 16. I am a kind spirited, patient, encouraging, and reliable person. I have always been interested in senior and disability care because there is a huge need for it and I believe that I am the right type of person to meet that need. Being a caregiver gives me such a purposeful feeling knowing I can come along side someone and aid them with the things they cannot do themselves. I worked as a CNA in a nursing facility for almost 2 years with long term and short term residents. I have worked with many types of patients with many different needs from dementia patients to quadriplegic patients. I have also volunteered at disability camps over the past couple of years.

I love to help people. Working with the elderly is an honor. It feels good to be able to make someone's day brighter.

I love having the opportunity to be able to help someone and care for someone in almost any circumstance. Wether I am needed to sit and watch or keep company and talk all day long I can do it! This is a great job for me because I prefer to work at night because I have school during the day (although daytime is nice as well) and it is good pay for a college student. I love being able to bond with people and keep them company when needed. It's like having a job where I get to have a friend and care for them :)

I want to be a caregiver so it can start my nursing career. I love working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoy taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. Empathy and compassion are two traits I carry very well. By showing both empathy and compassion I let the person I am caring for know that I care about the person and want to do what I can to help them.
