Hi my name is Winsome. Been a caregiver fo a while now. Comes with a lot of experience. Each day you learn new things and grow with your new love one. What attracted me to be a caregiver is that this wasn't the path I choose for myself. I wanted to be an accountant. But in 2004 I met an amazing lady who thought me to love and to think outside the box. When I work I give my all. I work hard, so at the end of the day if I get a smile from my new friends then I am happy and excited to see what awaits me for the next day. Isn't that exciting!

I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping others. I am also very passionate, patient and caring about my work. I love interacting with my patients. Getting to know them and what they use to love to do and what makes them happy.

I am a single mother of a now adult child. We are both working PT and going to school PT. I am currently studying to become an Special Needs teacher, but have been considering the field of Social Work. I have no official caregiver degree, but I helped my mom take care of my grandmother, and then my dad, and now I help take care of her. I like helping people, and sympathize with people who have limited abilities. I live in the Homestead area, so I am close by; however, I would only be available from approximately 12:30 on. I hope I can be of assistance.

I have performed duties such as medication, keeping track of blood pressure, diabetes, personal hygine, meals preparations, transportation for errands and doctors visit, and basically being a dependable caregiver and friend.

I want to become a caregiver because I feel a personal connection to people and want to help them with all the power I have. My grandfather has been living with my family for the past 10 years and was pretty independent until he had a stroke in 2012. Since then, he has been unable to care for himself and I assist by preparing his meals and coffee, dressing him occasionally, and generally supervising his activities. Knowing that I am contributing to his well being gives me a sense of pride and responsibility. Becoming a caregiver to others would allow me to service others and give me the same sense of pride as I do when I take care of my grandfather.

I want to become a CNA because it always me to dip my toes into the medical profession. My goal is to become a Registered Nurse but I believe that by becoming a CNA first allows me to experience the down and dirty side of nursing - allowing me to remain humble and understand that there's a lot more than just giving medications. It is also about ensuring that my patient is doing well in all aspects of their well-being: emotional, spiritually, and physically. I believe that my creativity and empathetic ways are unique to me. I believe in ensuring that my patient/resident is doing well and okay in all aspects of their well-being. I try to understand what they may be going through in order to find creative ways to heal their alignments. I believe in encouraging people of all ages to be independent and do things on their own - it does not have to be the normal way of doing things. It can be different and creative but as long as it helps the individual, it promotes greater independence and well-being.
