Being a caregiver for the past 8 years has helped me in so many ways. I decided to get into nursing when my mother became sick and couldn't do much for herself and I helped day in and day out. I saw how much of a positive impact it had on her and it made me feel great. I have worked in Hospitals, Nursing Home and Skilled Facilities, Private Duty, cases with Shepard center, brain and spinal injury patients. I love what I do in helping each client I've ever worked with whether it be from recovery start and finish or just companionship and daily living activities. Taking care of someone that needs my help and undivided attention gives me joy and it lets me know how truly appreciated I am to help someone who can't do for themself.

I really enjoy making a difference in the lives of others. I try to look at everything in a positive light while having fun and making the most out of every day. I most enjoy building a bond between the clients and me and doing activities that are of interest to them. I helped achieve a great dream of a client that uses a wheelchair, by dancing with her to the music that she loved.

I cared for seniors with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, stroke patients, bed bound patients catheter care, feedings, lifting, diabetic patient, I also offer companionship, I have experience with using a Hoyer lift, peg feedings, administering and managing medication, meal preparation giving baths, running errands, experience in transferring and lifting, feedings, toiletries , I have reliable and dependable references, I have worked in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and private homes, I have been a certified nurse assistant for 5years. I became a caregiver growing up with my young aunt who is of special needs. The feeling of helping or taking care of a person is more than I can explain. While working as a caregiver my clients always told me that I'm very good at what I do and that they really appreciate me, which gives me great pride and motivation in doing my job. That is one of my personal achievements to date. I am a hard working individual who tries to the best of my ability to serve my clients with respect and dignity.

What attracted me to being a caregiver was my father he was sick and had to go into a rehab I never forget he looked at my mother and said you never put me in one of these places mom said I had no choice it was doctor's orders I asked my father what could be so bad about it he said sometimes you don't know how these places are I asked him what could I do to help he said go to school to become a CNA and help your mother bring me home but Daddy never made it home so now I'm able to be there for other family members. The thing I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is to see my clients smile to be able to know they've had a good day to know that I did my very best to take care of them treat others as you want to be treated that's my motto I enjoy doing activities I enjoy working with residents it makes me very proud to know that they depend on me each and every day and that their face lights up when they see me as long as they're happy I know I've done my job.

Hello I have been a caregiver since 1992. I started helping my mom with the care of my grandmother and aunts. So I've always had the passion to help others. I like working with elders I think I have a passion for those with Alzheimer's and or Dementia. How I look at a person with this disease is they have taken a break but they're still here. It give me joy when I'm working with someone that has a lot to give and never gives up. I love working with elders because of their wisdom and knowledge they can teach us as all about Life. I've always taken different classes on how to continue working with the elders that gives me peace. Well I'm a mother of 3 and I'm continuing my education to become a nurse many say why I waited so long I say it's never to late I decided when I felt it was time. I would have done it earlier but I felt being my mother and my father caregiver gave me so much joy and I wanted that quality time with them. I didn't want someone else being their sole provider. So, that's why I love being a CNA i love that one on one care and like taking my time with someone that's in need of my assistance.
