I am a 31 year old female. I've been doing home care for 12 years . I'm currently enrolled in school to be a physical therapy assistant. I enjoy reading ,walking , and music. I have live-experience as well as facility experience. I can use an hoyer lift and gait belt. I enjoy cooking for my clients ! I assist with showers and all of their daily living activities.

I become a caregiver because I'm capable of delivering quality of care to the elderly. Giving quality of care is the most I like about a caregiver. Saving the life of one of my patient was my greatest achievement of which I'm very proud. My name is Pearline I have 14 yrs experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I first became a Caregiver because my of love for people. It gives me a sense of satisfaction to know that my client is happy and their family has satisfaction knowing their loved one is well taken care of. My patients always remember me no matter if they known for 2 day or 2 years. I care about how my clients feel. It's not easy letting someone do for you that you are use to doing for yourself. I know because I've been there. I was very sick 5 years ago with an infection in my intestine that almost killed me. I had to be the patient for 6 months and let someone else take care of me. That experience helped me understand even more what my patients were going through. I am grateful that I am able to help them.

It is common for me to hear that I'm very passive, patient, compassionate and understanding. I believe my personality consists of all these. Becoming a caregiver has really interested me because it gives me an opportunity to spend time with someone who has amazing life experiences and also to support and help them. During the short time I worked along side my dad assisting Mr. Anderson, I enjoyed making him meals, listening to his WW1 and WW2 stories, and most importantly I got to hang out with a wise soul. The personal achievement I'm most proud of is overcoming my self- conscious fears. I believe if I was still stuck in between myself and my "imperfections", I wouldn't be in college, or would've graduated early, or challenged myself to succeed.

I naturally became a caregiver by helping my mom take care of my disabled brother with heart conditions growing up. I then volunteered to take a year off from college to help take care of my dad's mother, then again left one job to move in and take care of my mother's mother. I've always been someone who cared whole heartedly about other people and I believe that EVERYONE should have someone there for them when they need assistance that actually cared versus just working a job and treating them horrible. I like the feeling that being a caregiver gives me. It's a tough job emotionally at times but it's so rewarding knowing that I am the one that was there for someone during their time of need. That I done something good in the world and hopefully changed their life for the better.

I am a very responsible, caring, and hard working woman. I have over 5 plus years in this field. I always wanted to be in the health care field and be able to help others. I am very passionate person. I was raised by my grandmother and learned how to deal with the cancer patient. I watch my grandfather struggled with cancer took care of him fed him got him to the doctors try to make the best years of his life the best they could be.
