I have been a licensed practical nurse since 1990. I received my nursing diploma in 1989, but passing my nursing boards in 1990 and receiving my nursing license is one of the achievements that is most gratifying to me personally. I live with my mother, sister, and pets. I enjoy watching old movies, old comedies, and doing bible study. I moved to California for a brief period of time and returned to Illinois due to family commitments. I began searching for work in the nursing field, when a friend of my sister asked me if I would consider becoming a caregiver for her mother. The mom was living with her oldest daughter who had the primary caregiver role. However, she was finding it increasingly difficult to work a full time job and care for her aging mother. I agreed to try out the role of caregiver and it lasted for a little over 5 years. This decision I will never regret. I have a friendly and outgoing personality, and great compassion for seniors. The client and family depend on the caregiver and I take this responsibility seriously. I am honest and dependable. Forming ongoing relationships with the client and family is very meaningful.

I been in health care for 14 yrs, caring for others is what I like, I have hospital experience, also I been caring for seniors at home for 3 yrs. I am very responsible CNA, I am able to manage difficult situation because of my experience.

When I was 19, my Mom was diagnosed with Cancer. Spending much of my time inside hospitals, skilled nursing homes, and at home with Mom, I had an opportunity to see first hand the difference between a truly good Caregiver/CNA and the ones who...weren't so good. I decided that I would get my Certificate so that I could be one of those good ones who truly touched people's lives. I fell in love with the profession, and have been doing this work for almost twenty years since. I truly love having the opportunity to provide the best Care Giving experience possible to all those I care for. One personal achieve I'm most proud of is the time I cleared the airway using the Heimlich Maneuver on a choking patient at a hospital I was working at. Although this particular patient was not assigned to me that day, the CNA caring for her was fresh out of school and panicked when the patient began choking on her breakfast. I was passing the room when I heard the CNA call for help. I recognized immediately that the patient was choking, pulled her into position and did the Heimlich until the food was dislodged. By the time the nurses responded, I had her airway clear and received a round of applause!

I am a very loving and compassionate person by nature. Although I don't have professional experience being a care giver, I have been a care giver to 3 different family members for separate reasons and at different times. I also nanny, and CLEAN. I am a bit of a neat freak and have no issues with house keeping either. I am not a professional chef but I can prepare meal, even healthy organic ones (given you have the materials). I have a pretty open schedule, as well as reliable transportation.

I came into caregiving in 2010 by caring for my grandfather. Once i got in with my agency, i began servicing other clients as well. I truly enjoy helping or assisting those who are unable to complete daily tasks on their own.

Well I have been doing this for 5 years or so and I can help with bed bath or shower meal prep medication reminders and I can help with feeding and spending time with the elderly I have experienced in hoyer lifts and sit to stand machine also I have experience in ROM ( range of motion) I know how to help with going to doctor appointments and what attracted me to being a caregiver is I like to help people out when they need someone to help out them out. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver out is helping out the elderly in need of care and show them that there not alone and that if they work hard they can achieve there goals to get better. Personal achievement I have had are taking care of multiple family members in one family and being spoken highly of by the elderly person therapist saying I am a good caregiver

I love to help! I raised into great love! Raised me strong women. When i birthed after a month my Dad passed. She left with her 8 kids. She raised educated and kindly all of us. I am an active, mature woman who has raised three children and took care of my elderly father who was diabetic and required dialysis regularly. I feel it is a special position to be a caregiver and demonstrate patience, sympathy, compassion and even humor to the person needing help. I have worked many years in the business world and want to give back now. Looking back, my favorite memories were always taking care of people. I am a friendly lady and communicate well with most everyone I meet. I love animals and presently have 3 little dogs that my husband and I enjoy.
