What makes me a great caregiver is that I am a patient myself. I understand first hand what its like to be on the other side of being cared for. I understand that many days can be hard and that a caregiver needs to be compassionate first. I have been a dialysis patient for the last 10 years, and have suffered a stroke myself along with a failed kidney transplant, and awaiting another. But from first look you could never tell. A fighter, I am. I have been there and understand what someone is going thru when they are going through and recovering from these difficult situations. They need love and consistent support when trying to get back on their feet.

I have been a caregiver for a couple of years I started with doing home health with my grandmother before she passed and then I started working in a facility just after Covid started. I enjoy 1-1 time with clients it gives us a chance to get to know each other and all my focus is on my resident .

I wanted to become a care giver at a very young age. It started when my grandmother had cancer. She needed daily care and seeing that I was to young at the start to become health care provider, I observed and learned. I once I became old enough to help with her care I helped as much as I was able to. Seeing the things that she went through softened my heart toward the people that could do very little on their own. Before she passed away she told me that this is something that I have a heart and the patience for becoming health care provider. I have always had an instinct to want to do something impact another individuals life for the better in anyway I possibly can.

I am a great care giver because I have raised three children, and I have taken care of my aunt who had cancer, my step mother and farther who had cancer, as well as did private sitting with so very important families in Mississippi. I love people especially the elders. I believe that if i can help someone continue to enjoy life than thats a wonderful thing to do. I have patience and I was a school teacher for 19 years and now I am a Media Specialist. I have my masters as well as my specialist degree. I love people, i believe in giving and learning. I treat people the way I want to be treated.

I became a caregiver because I like to help people. I like being a caregiver because I am compassion in what I do. My personal achievement that I am proud of is everyday I make a difference in someone life by helping them. I have been a caregiver for 15 years and I love my job. I love making a difference in people life.

I am a patient spirited person. I enjoy helping others. I believe as a young adult it is wise to give back to the elder community, to help care for those who once care for us. My expertise have ranges from helping elders order medications and regulate insurance information, to evaluate prescriptions needs, and provide direction with the medical community.

Hello, my name is Alisha. I am currently a full time student, but I am looking to provide care for someone. I have over 2 years experience in private sitting working with an Alzheimer's patient.

I have worked in the healthcare field for over 15 years. I have worked in many capacities from CNA, to the Business Operations Manager. I have worked with many different types of patients and clients with many different types of health conditions. I love helping people and that is one of the things that draws me to wanting to be a caregiver. I enjoy being to see and hear from my clients that they have truly benefited from the services that I have provided to them. That makes it all more satisfying as it is more a ministry calling. My proud personal achievement is that I ventured out to start my own personal homecare business and it is underway.

My name is Shaterra Bellazan. I am a 23 year old recent graduate of Jackson State University. My passion for caring for other came directly from my home. Always caring for my mother who has lupus & my grandma and dad who had cancer. I am patient & kind. I am always willing to learn and grow.

My name is Charity and Charity means Love! I live up to my name and caring is my game. I have a heart big enough for all humanity but it's reserved for those who need it most. I hate to see our elders mistreated or neglected and I'll do whatever I can do to avoid it. As a social work student I've learned many ways that our elders are forgotten in this ableist world. Since learning that, I promised myself I'd always help in any way possible. This is a great way and I enjoy being able to listen and learn from the clients as well!
