Throughout my time junior year I worked in a nursing home and found myself having a deep connection to the elderly and hoping that I could better their lives in some way throughout my time. I would experience residents crying and sharing feelings of sadness, during these times I found myself deeply sympathetic and understanding and never felt frustrated or annoyed at these feelings. My personal achievement would be getting employee of the month, not from the work place, but from a long term resident who would pick workers who effected her. I enjoy the conversations I got to have with residents telling me stories of when they grew up, spending my lunch breaks with different residents, and getting to fill up bird feeders outside their windows.

Hello my name quintella but majority of people call my nikki, its easier to remember. i have been the healthcare industry for 6 yrs now, i enjoy what & i have a deep passion for it. Im a easy going person & evreyone seems to like me, i take pride in what i do because i try my best at everything i do.

I became a caregiver because I love providing home caregiving services to those that would otherwise not be able to do so. The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel I have done my job right. I have always enjoyed helping people so I know I am doing the right thing. What I like about being a caregiver is the compassion and bond that is established between client and provider. The feeling knowing that you are making a significant difference in someone's life is unfathomable. A personal achievement I am proud of would be the first in my family (as well as extended) to go off to college (The Ohio State University) and establish and begin to develop a life for myself while exploring new places. I am intellectual, enthusiastic, humble, caring, mindful, respectful, honest, and hard working.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I have compassion, I have fellow feeling for people, and if I am helping a child, I think it is my child, I imagine people as sisters, brothers, parents, grandparents, and that makes me feel, and identify how important they are, and how I would feel about someone else looking after my loved one, and how they would want me to interact. It really makes you know empathy. Nobody wants sympathy, but we need empathy. I like to interact when clients need and want interaction, but I also want to respect space, boundaries, and privacy. I do not want to hover. I have a lot of experience in many aspects of caregiving. I can cook well, clean, be a companion, share experiences, I can, and actually love yardwork, I have experience with mild to profound disabilities, dementia, alzheimer's, Multiple Sclerosis (paralysis) stroke victims, occupational therapy techniques, have used a gait belt, lift, and wheelchair assistance, toileting, female catheter care, bed bound patients, toileting, incontinence, bathing, showering, bed bathing, chores, nutrition, game playing. I could not put my experience in the work section because it kept deleting everytime I got to the second source, so I put most on the first one. I have been caregiving since 1996.

I currently live in Hilliard., OH but I'm originally born and raised in Atlanta, Gorgiea. I will be attending The Ohio State University fall of 2019, with a major in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Business. My personality traits are openness, fearless, trusting, humorous, easy-going, observant, optimistic, helpful, and the list could go on! I'm interested in being a caregiver because I really love helping people and my community. I want to be able to gain and learn something from this whole experience especially my patient. Hello, my name is Tara. I am a state tested nursing assistant. I grew up caring for family members in our home and with that knowledge, I became an stna. I take pride in caring for others. I am a very caring, empathetic caregiver. It is very important to me that I provide excellent care.

As a mother of two caring for people is what I do best. After being a stay-at-home mom for four years I wasn't sure how I was going to transition back in to the workforce. I met john while out running errands. We had a great deal in common and as I said my goodbyes he said he was looking for another care assistant. John is and individual with muscular dystorphy. When helping him during the day I run his errands, both personal and for his local business. I fix meals, do housework, laundry, shopping, helping him go to the bathroom, etc. I currently work a few night shifts a week which entails being on call when he needs to be turned. I have been trained to use his hayek machine by his respiratory therapist. In the morning I help him get showered, shaved and ready for the day. I didn't see his add. I met John through what can only be described as serendipity. It has been a tremendous blessing and I have made a great friend. Helping others is what I love to do most and I am good at it. I currently have daytime availability and would like to continue helping others. I love being around people and getting to know them. Being a mom is hands down my greatest achievement and empathy and being a nurturer are my greatest strengths.

I have a compassion for people and my degree is in Biology and Public Health. It be great to make a difference in lives of the people that I come in contact with. I became a caregiver to use my public health skills and find the outlet for making a difference that I had in me. I am sociable, outgoing and friendly person. I enjoy music, restaurants and outdoors.

I have worked with seniors on and off for several years. I was a volunteer for a few nursing homes and finally decided to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. I have worked in nursing homes and for home health. I have always loved to care for the elderly since a young age. They are not just 'people' to me, they are my grandfathers and grandmothers. I respect Seniors and know they need lots of love and care. We will all have to go through this stage in life that can be very difficult. How wonderful it would be if we all had compassionate, caring caregivers during this time! I am also a volunteer with Valley Hospice, am a certified Grief Coach, Reiki Therapist, and certified End of Life Doula. Please know if I could be of any assistance to you on a part-time basis. I like being a caregiver because it makes me feel good about giving back some of what my grandmother gave me when I was younger, and I like to make people feel good about the rest of their time here and I do the best I can to do that.
