I'm very attentive and respond to situations in a timely manner. A patient, especially the elderly, needs constant care and attention. It's the caregivers job, therefore, to be attuned to those needs even if the patient doesn't or is unable to communicate them. I became a caregiver because I was testing out majors because I didn't know what I wanted to do or be in life. My ultimate goal is to become an RN. On June 6th 2021 I take my national exams to become an EMT!

I am a mom of 2 beautiful daughters - 18 and 9. Although I don't currently have any at the moment, I am a foster care mom (resource parent). I became a caregiver in 1983. I worked as a CNA at a nursing home. I love caring for the elderly. I achieve great satisfaction knowing that the care I provide makes someone feel better and more comfortable. My greatest accomplishment is becoming the first in my family to graduate high school and college. I graduated from Drexel (formerly Hahnemann ) University School of Allied Health Professions and became an RN in 1987. I completed a parish nursing program and earned my BSN in 2003. I work only part time. I am very interested in performing meaningful work for 3 - 4 hours daily while my children are in school. I am very nurturing and caring. I am respectful, patient and kind. I pay attention to details. I love to talk, and I am a good listener. I am reliable. I have current child link, criminal background and FBI clearances. My clearances are mandatory because I am a licensed foster care provider, minister and a registered nurse. My background is senior care, oncology, hospice and the health insurance industry. I am also a licensed minister.

I think what make me a great care giver is first, my 17 years of experience . Second in my 17 year career I learn and develop patience for those I care for, compassion because you have to understand what the patient and family members are going through, attentiveness because I now care for patients that they can physically and emotionally everyday. Dependability I know my patient and their family depends on me to be there when I say I am. I also show up on time and when I suppose to be. Trustworthiness I will never breach the trust of the patient I care for. I came a caregiver because I love taking care of people. Take care of people just comes naturally to me . What I like most about being a caregiver is that knowing that I'm be helping people that a reward in itself.I have a lot of personal achievements the most recent one that I can recall is that I work in a ICU and the nurse call out for help I ran in the room quick as possible to see what I can assist her with , and while helping the nurse t the patient has lost her pulse I hit the code button in the room and started CPR right away while the nurse tried to get a Iv in the patient, after one round of CPR the patient the patient got her pulse back. The patient daughter was hugging me and thank me for saving her mom. I told her it was nothing I was just doing, my job. To this day every time I see her she tell people that lady who save my mom life.

When my uncle got diagnosed with dementia in 2016 and I got involved in his care, I developed a passion for helping people and I have been in this field ever since. I am a very friendly outgoing person. I enjoy helping others and making people smile. In the five years before my mother's passing of interstitial lung disease, I supported in her care needs and the heavy transitions that came about with the physical, mental and emotional changes through going through a terminal disease. I would also find myself intermittently caring for elderly loved ones of my friend's when they were occupied for a day. Caregiving became a role that was more a natural calling that fit to my innate strengths in empathy, listening, intuition, attention to detail and high presence. Holding space and support brings me joy and contentment-- and it were these above strengths I honed during my years caring for my mother which led to me starting my healing arts practice in 2017. I work as a certified healing practitioner in the healing arts with 2.5 years of experience in Reiki energy healing, one on one healing guidance support and therapeutic dance movement. I am not certified as CNA or HHA.

- I am very patient to work with. I understand the ill condition of the client and I take time to work closely with them. I pay attention to details and give a listening ear to clients because that makes them feel important. I got attracted to being a caregiver when my grandmother was diagnosed dementia and passed away with the illness. It opened my perspective of what it feels like to care for other seniors suffering from similar diseases or illness. I love to make a difference. People need care by people who care. I can help. I had my own cleaning business while taking classes and the people I did cleaning for were mostly seniors who also needed home health care. I found that I liked attending to them personally, whether it be talking or other care needs. Establishing a personal relationship with them was what mattered. Listening, interacting and just being there made it a rewarding and personally fulfilling experience.

My name is Christine and I am a Registered Nurse with my Bachelors, and currently in school for my Master of Science in Nursing. Over the last 8 years I have found my true calling and my passion. I have had the opportunity to work with patients in both acute and non-acute settings. I have been a caregiver in the hospital and outpatient setting, but not in a patient's home. I would love to have the opportunity to work alongside someone who truly needs the love, support, and commitment to achieve daily goals. I feel truly empowered when I can provide care to others and make a lasting relationship. Currently I am attending school online, but am hoping to have the opportunity to be employed for a company or family that will allow me to educate, support and care for their loved one as I would care for my own. I am a 33 year old female living in Collingswood NJ and I am very proud of my accomplishments in school, as well as all of the opportunity within the medical field I have had. Not many people can say they found their true calling in life, but I know I have. I love what I do, I love helping others, and I will continue to excel and help others to do the same as long as I am able too. It's important to treat others how you want to be treated. A few years ago I had an injury that required me to be taken care of for 8 months (including ADLs). It was very difficult for me not be able to do for myself and this is when the Caregiver idea came into my head. Without my friends and family I don't know where I would be today.
