Hello! I am a 52 year old woman looking for someone that needs a little help to make their day a little easier. I have two aunts that I love helping and I thought maybe someone else may just need me too. I love to cook and bake and believe it or not, I enjoy cleaning! It makes me feel calm to get a nice clean room . I have cared for many aging family members and it has been some of my best memories with them. I'm an excellent shopper and always find bargains. I'd love to take drives and look at this beautiful world. I am terrible at singing or anything musical . But I love to listen to music. I have a health care background that comes in handy.

I am a patient and caring person. I live in Windsor Gardens and live with my Father who is 91. I and my siblings and hired caregivers allow me the opportunity to work outside of the home. Caregiving has been very gratifying and meaningful to me.

I am an army brat and army wife. I've lived everywhere and get along with everyone also. During my husbands career I've worked in hospitals as a doctors assistant, nursing assistant and what is called triage today. I've also worked in security because of my miltary background. The last few years I've worked as healthcare giver and worked in a nursing home as their Ambassador for over 200 patients (actually they wanted us to call them customers).

I have always enjoyed taking care of others. This stems from my childhood. My parents were never there for me. I took care of myself and my younger siblings for most of my own childhood. In summary, i have worked with Hospice care, Hospitals, patients recovering from surgery and patients at home who need care. I am very passionate about helping people and the job i do. The most recent personal achievement i can say am proud of is being able to handle a very aggressive female patient with dementia, after most caregivers gave up on her. It took a special kind of person with patience and experience to handle her. I was able to work with her till she was discharged home.

Back in 2010 I took an early retirement from my job as a transit worker in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved my wife and two young sons here to Northridge. My wife comes from a large and close knit family here in the LA area so it made perfect sense for her to be here and for my boys to be with their aunts uncles and cousins. I never had plans of becoming a caregiver but I just kind of got into it by accident in 2011.Since then I have come to realize this job is the perfect fit for me. I love the fact that I am able to make such a positive difference in the lives of families who are going thru such a difficult time. I am naturally a very caring and compassionate person. I am very easy going fun loving and approachable .When I am with a client I like to create a relaxed and positive atmosphere. I always like to encourage outdoor physical activity if possible. Over the years I have experienced all the physical and mental challenges that my clients were facing. I am also a pretty decent cook and a good housekeeper. I cared for my most recent client for over five years and he recently passed away. The personal achievement in life which I am most proud of is being a great husband to my loving wife of 28 yrs and a fantastic Dad to me two awesome sons

I became a caregiver because my love of people. It started in 1981 when my mother got sick and had a heart transplant. I took care of her until she passed in 1992. Then my husband grandmom got sick in 2003 and I took care of her until 2017 she passed at 104. Then I met my neighbor and I was helping her and we became great friends not just employer and employee. I am looking to give my compassion to someone else.

I have always enjoyed providing love and support to those in need. I pursued my passion for helping other with a masters degree in social work where I am now able to provide professional clinical services. The role of in home support is still a passion that I like to fulfill; as developing those personal bonds and authentic companionship is something I do best and find fulfilling. Over the years of providing person centered care, I have helped the lives of others and their loved ones in need of 'that something extra'. I still maintain valuable relationships with several individuals I've supported. This to me, is more than a job- it's friendship, compassion, and a way a life.
