I am a patient and kind person who loves to get to know my clients forming a comfortable bond. Since I was a child I have always enjoyed the company of my elders because that's where you get all your wisdom from. A personal achievement that I am proud of I would have to say is when I taught art to at risk youth for about three years for a Christian nonprofit by the name of New Spring Art studio.

I believe I would be well suited for the position because of my caring heart and years of experience working in the mental health field. My background includes 10 years working with the Texas Department of Aging and Disability as a Qualified Mental Retardation Professional. My responsibilities during that time included working with the Interdisciplinary Team made up of professionals to advocate for my clients and insure all their needs were being met. I managed a case load of 36 clients by assessing their needs, creating service plans, monitoring, and providing crisis prevention. I meet with other professionals for monthly meetings to assess, develop and implement the clients' annual service plans. I enjoy the weekly traveled to conduct home visits and assess clients' needs. Along with working with clients I managed a department that included 21 staff members and supervised multiple programs. In addition to my work experience I have an educational background in Sociology and Social Work. I'm a certified Mental Health Professional and Certified Nursing Assistant.
