My husband and our 4 children just moved out here to this area about a year ago for his job at Lockheed Martin. We have 3 beautiful 11 year old daughters and 1 very handsome 14 year son. We are very family oriented and love the Lord very much. I am currently a Pharmacy Technician, but I also have many years of experience loving the elderly as my own family and I hope I can show your family member love too.

Hello. My name is Amy. I was a fine arts teacher in Texas working with teenagers and adults for 25 years. Seven years ago I moved to California and decided to change careers, working with seniors this time, helping them to have a better quality of life. As a senior caregiver for the last 5 years most of my clients have remained in their homes to receive care, but I've also helped some in assisted living facilities and hospitals. I have experience working with seniors who have had Alzhiemer's disease, dementia, memory impairment, visual and hearing deficits, end stage cancer as well as those who need short term assistance while healing from various injuries and surgeries. I am a very empathetic, kind-hearted and compassionate person who loves to help others. I prefer working part time and daytime shifts. I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I became a part-time caregiver years ago when we discovered my dad had dementia in the 90s. I have always been a caregiver in my family . My background is in finance. Kids got to college and I decided I'd do what was in my heart! Love being a companion and helpful Guide when I'm needed in a shopping, cooking, housekeeping and overall balancing act for someone who just needs some assistance.

I love helping others the young and the elder. I try to keep a happy go lucky spirit about me at all times. I was raised by grandparents and at early age I had to learn how to care from them. Later first job as a caretaker was at nursing home was a great experience of helping dressing, grooming, feeding, and just showing love and that I care. As years went by, I received Certified nurse aide license and other experience to further my career in healthcare.

Honestly, I first became a caregiver because I understood job security, but quickly became my passion. One of my greatest accomplishments in caregiving was when I had to teach my son to walk again after having a major surgery. My heart was so overwhelmed because doctors said he wouldn't. I believe in treating the individual as I or my family member would want to be treated if we were on opposing sides. I became attracted to being a caregiver when I realized people really need to be loved and taken care of properly. Not just for a pay check but because they enjoy it and because they're passionate about it. I enjoy it because it doesn't feel like a job. The person you're caring for can become like family to you if they're open. A personal achievement I'm proud of is the fact that I'll graduate with my degree in December.

My mother has dementia and there is a special kind of love and care that is needed on a daily basis with a lot of patience.
