Hi! My name is Ashley Chung and I have been working as the Certified Nursing Assistant for about 3 years now. I love being there to help the patients in their most difficult time. I just moved to Big Island of Hawaii from Seattle, Washington. I'm hoping to continue my education to become trauma or pediatric nurse one day and eventually nurse anesthetist. I had worked with variety of patients who has different need, so I'm flexible adjusting to provide the care each individual patient requires.

I am 34 years old Hispanic woman; Mother of two beautiful kids. I am the kind of people with a lot of empathy and compassion for to others. I an Nursing Assistant Certificate, and I hope to find some right people who need my help and I will be exited to being the right person to give my best care.

I started helping my grandma administer her diabetes shots and prepare meals when I was in elementary school. I later helped a neighbor with similar needs, I would stop by her house on my way home from school-I ended up working for her for seven years, until she needed a 24 hour care facility . I learned so much from women like them, caretaking has always been my way of showing respect. Besides giving brings the greater happiness. I am working on WA state certification for independent care provider.

What makes me a great caregiver is the quality of service I provide and the compassion and love I show each of my clients. For me, it is more than just a job. Each person I have worked with has touched my life deeply and given me an opportunity to witness living history. I am able to see them as they are, as a person and not categorize them based on there age or illness. Many of the people I have cared for have become like family and I care for them as such. I want to be a caregiver because I genuinely care about people and enjoy helping people. I helped my daughter with her paraplegic client for a week while they were visiting California and I loved being able to help him, it's one of the things I do best. He told me I must be a natural nurturer. The thing I am most proud of is the care and compassion I was able to teach my children. I am also proud that I was invited to join the Phi Thetta Kappa and was able to maintain my GPA the entire time I was in college, working, and raising children. I am compassionate caregiver and with my training and experience I like to improve the lives of people needing care. I enjoy working with elderly as I taking care of my parents and help them regaining their strength. My reward is to see a smile in their face. I love and excel in the care of patients. I have the unique ability to bring laughter, and joy to everyone I come into contact with. Fourteen years ago I certified as an NAC and am now continuing education for a nursing degree. I have raised two children that are independent and happy. I always look for learning opportunities, from everyone and pride never keeps me from asking questions.

I enjoy the connection I've gained with consumers , learning new personalities and old stories they have to offer. I found my passion working in the human services field. Caregiving is one of the oldest forms of human service work, and also very direct and personal which is part of why I enjoy it. I want to help people live and thrive as independently as possible, in their own homes and work closely with my clients to make sure I am able to assist them in their needs for daily living. 1. I became a CNA because I love to help people out and feel the satisfaction on there faces when I have done either something small or big for them. My mother was a CNA for 15 years and she's whats drives me to do what I do today. 2. I like being able to walk into work everyday with a smile on my face knowing that I am going to help people, satisfy there ADL's and make a difference in there life for that day. 3. A personal achievement of mine is when I achieved my CNA license, to me the state test was hard. 4. I have been working as a CNA at Manor Care Gig Harbor for about 8 months now. I love what I do there and I also love my residents. Before doing this I was an at home care taker for about a year as well. For quit a few years I have also taken care of my parents and there needs at home. I am planning on going back to school for my LPN. I have 2 more years left of school. It will be a challenge but i will accomplish it.

I have been in the caregiving field going on two years. I am a nursing student as well. I love what I do, and at such a young age I have been blessed enough to already have so much experience.

My passion is to help people to the best of my ability. I love my community, meeting new people & hearing their history. Throughout my many career changes I have always leaned more towards helping & caring for the elderly because I personally feel that I connect better with them rather then my own generation.

Being patient means that I should understands that there may be changes in plans, things may not go as quickly as planned, and there may be a little hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving care. When someone has compassion for another I will have an understanding of what the person is going through. Being attentive as caregiver, I can notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the Clients. And be confident in what your doing as far caring

After receiving my Associates degree in Medical Assisting some years back I found myself caring for my dying father. It was a trying time for my family and I. Throughout this long ordeal we had help from some amazing caregivers. Their knowledge and skill made the little time he had left comfortable. Some time has passed since then and I have enjoyed the challenges of working in Home health care. First working for Lutheran Community Services and then one of Seattle's leading home healthcare co. The experience knowledge and skills I gained were only second to the incredible people I was fortunate enough to be able to care for. My approach to caregiving has always been to enhance my clients life. Always being respectful, compassionate, and caring knowing it is not easy for most to need our services. Versatile with approach to activities, socializing. Encouraging activities and a less sedentary life.
