Growing up I've always enjoyed helping out my great aunt and all of her friends, she lived to be 105. I love the stories they have tell and helping others when needed. Being a caregiver allows me to show them, that just because they are unable to get around like they use does not make them any less important. My all time personal achievement to me is two things, having the capability to take care of my Grammy and becoming a foster parent to help children in limbo know that they are still loved no matter what. I am currently the mother of 3 beautiful baby boys. I have went as far as I wanted to go in childcare and now it is time for my next quest on my list, being a caregiver. I want to help someone else. I like knowing that I have made some one else's life a little easier. I am proud that I have changed someone's life, didn't expect anything in return and I was happy about it. I am 58 years of age. I worked at Provident Hospital for about 10 years and worked at UIC for a year. I was a Medical Assistant/Ward Clerk. I worked 2 years in the Emergency Room, 8 years working Telemetry, Med Surgery, ICU,OB Gyne, Ortho, Podiatry and Oncology clinic.

I. I became a Caregiver because the word "Caregiver" is what I am. I care for humanity with special needs or partial/full assistance and a giver because I give all I have on my reach to those who need to do the things they can't, for example (ADL's) Activities of Daily Living. 2. I like everything I have done so far as a Caregiver. From experiencing clients with the care of only companion to the care of hospice. Many clients I had done care for with different cases and thats what I like about being a caregiver, because those cases are reality in life that make me stronger when the time comes to my love ones or myself also, the satisfaction I feel when a person says thank you with gratitude. 3. The achievement I am proud of is when a client or patient recuperates from a physical or health problem with my care. 4. I can say about myself is what people had told me in my 37yrs. of age. Also, what I truly considered and had known through my years as a Caregiver. I am lovable, caring, funny, smart, responsible, I have good memory of schedules and program a routine, I am a mom of 3 educated and good children of ages 15, 11 and 8, and I am also happily newlywed with a wonderful man. I love to cook healthy foods, clean and organized. I always tried to make sure the other person is comfortable and happy. I have good sense of humor and I also consider myself honest and respectful with others.

I feel I am a great caregiver because of my passion for Seniors. My Grandmother is 99 years old and she is a big inspiration to me. I became a caregiver after completing a Medical Assistant course in 2009. I immediately began caring for a senior couple and assisting them with everything in their daily lives. They were so appreciative of me and that made me feel so grateful that I was a part of their lives. I'm compassionate, caring, loving, understanding and a great listener. But most of all a wonderful companion for any senior.

I am a caring, patient caregiver. That understands people from time to time in their lives need a little helping hand. I truly feel that I am put on this Earth to take care of others. I have experience with Alzheimer's and Dementia. When I first meet my future client(s) and family we get to know each other quickly. I am a relaxed easy going person who likes to make the day fun and interesting but yet work productivly while serving your family member (s). Having to re-enter the workforce after raising three daughters and graduating from college led me on a search for a career that fed my soul while serving others. I became a caregiver because a friend at church suggested it and I found it was a perfect fit. What I like most about care giving is that it is multi- faceted work. It not just about the everyday tasks it's about relationships, relating, observing and thinking creatively as to how to meet a special need, hope or want. Its about bringing my whole self into another's life and finding out what they need and then working to make it happen. Recently I was able to take a mother (Alzheimer's) and son (physical disabilities) out to Walmart to do Christmas shopping. It was a great day. The son enjoyed the day and had a great sense of accomplishment and the mom had a chance to see her son realize a goal. They both thanked me in the car on the way home and were so happy. This gave me a great sense of accomplishment as neither if them wanted to venture out much for the first few months. Now, after a year with them we plan out the day and include at least one fun adventure each week. This expands their world, abilities and enhances their lives. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am a caregiver with an RNA status for the state of Washington. I have been caregiving for the past 6 years here after moving from Illinois. I have a strong urge to take care of the elderly, my compassion is great. My abilities are unmatched. I can cook, clean, shop and take care of less fortunate persons. I have been a certified nursing assistant since 1993. I have worked in nursing homes, home health and hospice. I currently work as a caretaker for a couple in Sylacauga. I feel that I am very compassionate about my work. I love my patients and families. I do tend to get attached some because I genuinely care about my patients and their well being. I love being able to help people. I honestly didn't know what I was getting into when I was 20 years old but after over 20 years I wouldn't trade it for anything. I have always been told that I was in the right field of work. I have always had great reviews and compliments from my patients and their families.

I am able to treat people the way I would want myself or someone in my family to be treated. I believe that I receive so very much more in my position as a caregiver. My heart is so full of gratitude whenever I end my day. Everyday is different and you have to be ready to go with what's happening at that moment in time. I am very flexible and dependable in that respect. I love a challenge and I love helping others that need the help. I think it is important though that you let them know that you are there to help do whatever they need help with, not there to tell them what or how to do it, make suggestions and always remember that they are still thinking, feeling human beings.

I am a senior citizen with work experience dealing with the public. I am retired from Los Angeles Superior Court (Narcotics Desk). I retired after 27 years of service. I have worked for Walmart as a temp., Anna's Linens (until my store closed and the company went out of business). I most recently worked at HD Supply company, but resigned because the heavy lifting became too much for me. I am 65 years old and I'm looking for supplementary income. I have my own transportation and I like working with people.
