I'm a Christian lady who believe in helping the elderly who are disabled to care for themselves. After during this in my early younger adult years for my friend's mother, helping out with different people as prn, this really felt natural for me. My grandma just pasted with Alzheimer's diseased and as a experienced caregiver I was glad to step in to take care of her. It's always a joy to work with the elderly people and be a blessing for their family.

I enjoy being a caregiver because I enjoy helping people and helping them to try to achieve their goals. I have patience,a loving and caring heart but also sometimes you got to have the will to try to motivate a patient to do more than they think they are able to do. I enjoy most about being a caregiver is I can just be myself and care for my patient. My personal achievement I am most proud of is raising my daughter after a terrible divorce and working two jobs while in nursing school and graduating before my mother passed with cancer.Praise God

I am 25 years old, and I have a 3 year old son on the autism spectrum. I am very caring, loving, and patient. I appreciate spending time with me elders, and helping in any way I can. I'm the youngest of 8 children and when my mother became I'll no other family member had the time or desire. I took a leave of absence from my job and the rest is history. I never returned. Those were precious years..

My patients and humbleness, how am able to conduct myself even when the person am taking care of is upset or mad at me. The way i treat them with love and passion. what attracted me to be a caregiver is my heart. I have a heart for the seniors and to those who deals with disabilities. Growing up i spend a lot of time with seniors. what i enjoy most is communication, their wisdom and being around them and serving them is lovely. One of my greatest achievement is i became my daddy best friend.

I began my career in caregiving several years ago when I left my career in nonprofit management to provide FT care for my mother, Julia. She was 75 and dealing with congestive heart failure, COPD, dementia and other chronic medical conditions. After she passed, I began offering care for other families. Presently, I provide companionship care two days a week for a family with two senior adults, one (female, age 88) with mid-stage dementia and the other (male, age 77) with ALS. I also provide companionship care two to three days a week for a senior (female, age 80) with early stage dementia. I also provide PRN (as needed) care for a senior (female, age 94) with late stage dementia. I am very comfortable working with adults experiencing dementia, alzheimers and/or other chronic illnesses. I enjoy building relationships that help keep the adults I care for as happy and healthy as possible while remaining in their own homes. If you feel I may be a good fit for your loved one, I am very interested in learning more about your needs and would be happy to talk with you on the phone or meet with you in person.

Caregiving has changed me in so many ways. "Empathy", I see things with different eyes, "Compassion", I feel differently. I've always been a person who goes out of her way to help others; but, since my sons accident I go even further.... we very seldom get help. I think that pushes my desire to assist others even more. I feel things more intensely now. I guess this journey has broadened my view on a lot of things! Not to mention, It's taught me so much more about what I am capable of.

I'm very compassionate about being a caregiver. Since I can remember I loved being the one to assist with someone in need and love to see them over come any obstacle.

I Have been a caregiver all my life, because I grew up with my Grandmother and my great aunts and had to tend to them quite often. I am all about helping people!!! I started college as an undergraduate in psychology and came to realize through volunteer programs that my true love was giving compassionate care and love to those less fortunate than me. Whether it be someone with a disability or working with the elderly. I was very blessed to have all 4 of my grandparents untill my 40's. My paternal Grandfather became ill first at 90 yrs old with renal failure. I helped my Grandma take care of him until he passed at 94 in 2004. My maternal Grandpa became critically ill with Alzheimer's at 93 and his wife, my Grandma passed with the same at 91 years of age. I am getting ready to celebrate my paternal Grandmother's 101st birthday, next month!:) LET"S PARTY!!!:)) These experiences motivated me to care-give for others on a part-time basis, I previously held a CNA License, while pursuing my insurance school and license. I currently hold a 215 FL Insurance License, while working on an RN degree. I have a great knowledge of medical terms, funding, grants and how to help families and clients access funding and medical help. I desire full-time or live-in employment. References upon request. I became a caregiver in 2017. A gentleman was given my name by a mutual friend. He was told I was compassionate, honest and would be perfect to fill the position he needed for taking care of his wife. I went to meet her, and fell in love with caring for her. She was blind, bedbound and suffered the end stages of dementia. She was non-verbal, and had not communicated in several years. It didn't take long, but she began talking to me! I quickly learned to use a hoyer, and to do daily range of motion exercises, along with physical therapy. After my first job, I was determined to help more people. I had gotten so much out of the progress I seen my patients were making. I have so much patence, and love to help others as if they were my own family. Since I started I've had the opportunity to use a ceiling hoyer, care for a Foley catheter. As well.as using other catheters including condom catheters.

I have been on both side of the caring circle; needing it and giving it. Always keep an open heart, be respectful, try kindness, and anywhere you are... keep a cool head ...even if the sky is falling. Let's make some music together!
