I became a caregiver since 2002 caring for my grandmother and ever since it became a passion of mine. I make a great caregiver because I enjoy making people smile, laugh through their difficult time. I will work well with their family and honor their wishes and goals. I like caregiving because I like for my patients to feel good about themselves and take the stress off family members who aren't able to care for your loved ones. I do know CPR as well.

From 2010 to 2015 I was caregiver to my father who was diagnosed with Dementia as well as Diabetes 2. While most people would understand this to be a "daughter's duty" it was much more than that. In taking care of my father, I realized just how much more care, compassion & physical help an elderly person needs. While my father could remember "days past" his memory was very short term & he eventually could no longer read nor write. While he still could dress himself & bathe, he could no longer prepare food nor clean his apartment. My father was happiest in front of a television with someone to wait on him. While his demeanor was mostly calm, from time to time I did have to deal with verbal outbursts & bouts of rage. I realized this was my father lashing out at his situation but I also realized that if I had not been available, there might have been a lot more damage to his dwelling or to other persons in his building. At the end, my father developed "sundowning" & was eventually hospitalized. While waiting for a nursing home vacancy to open up, my father passed. After my father had gone, I became more aware of just how important caregiving really is. I seemed to have become more aware of other elderly people & how they would cope as they aged. Everywhere I went I found myself going out of my way to help an elderly person in need. Pushing a wheelchair, talking, holding their hand, helping them get somewhere, it was as if I had found a new meaning in life. I am a highly intelligent individual, a problem solver & a person who doesn't need to be told twice about how to do something. I am a hard worker-I can cook, prepare meals, clean, can talk a blue streak or just sit & watch TV with someone. I can drive, can lift a heavy load & am a good entertainer. I am good in emergencies & can think a problem through to its remedy. Most importantly, I can communicate with the family with regard to the person being cared for.

I am a mother of two. I am currently living with my parents. I am a student at NMSU and I think I have a very fun, outgoing personality. I get along great with my elders and love to help in anyway I can. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my grandparents. My grandmother suffers from arthritis and a knee injury and my grandfather is a victim of Parkinson's disease. I love helping them although they would 'rather do it themselves'. I Just love to help others in need and make them happier and feel comfortable. An achievement I'm really proud of is my educational goals are being reached at a fast pace. I have surprised myself in many ways now that I have obtained my GED and am pursuing more education.

I first began caregiving when I was about 20 years old and my neighbor was diagnosed with cancer. I helped her with showering, medication administration and a healthy diet. I also took her to doctor appointments. This was where it all began and what attracted me to this profession. I am a great caregiver because I am compassionate, kind and patient. One of my greatest achievements as a caregiver is when I worked in hospice care and was able to give a patient the best quality of life at the end of their life and to have the honor to be with them until the very end.

I have had a lot of experience with caregiving. Ive not only taken care of the elderly but also people with special needs. Ive always loved helping others and making people happy.

Good Day.My name is noline.The the reason I love what I do is because I get to see someone have a smile on there face.And knowing that they have someone they care talk to,and do things with if family is not around.My personal achievement is,I have a 91 year old working with that didn't trust anyone now have a lot of trust in me.Be around older people and learning from them,and listening to there story about when they were young.I guess just my personality around people and wanted to help others.

I started my CNA/GNA career after helping to take care of my father. My father had Alzheimer's and esophageal cancer. I do this because I want to make a difference in my clients lives. I've been employed doing home health care since 2016. I assist my clients with meal prep, medication reminders, showers, getting dressed plus many more ADL's. I'm also a mother of 3

I have always been a person that likes to be at home and I find myself at a peaceful state working in a home environment.

I am a great care giver because I am loving, patient, understanding, fun , caring. I first started in the senior care fiend working for Brookdale senior care assisted living. I loved working for the company but had to move. Once I moved I started working with the in home companies which I find more rewarding because I see how the client is happier being in their own home rather then being in an assisted facility. I enjoy my work and feel rewarded because I walk away knowing I have made a difference in someone's life. Having the feeling of knowing I have made the loved ones relaxed knowing their loved one is being well taken care of. My biggest accomplishment is with my client who I work with now. When I started with her she was not able to do much of anything on her own because of her stroke and having no use of her left side . I have been able to get her more indecent to the point she is out of her wheel chair, able to do her ADLs own her own. The only thing she needs help with now is shower assistance . I have helped her become the woman she once was, and I feel blessed because of that.

I have been a caregiver for about 6-7 years and a CNA for about 2. A good friend of mine needed help with a lady who had Alzheimer and I had no experience at all. They say the best way to learn is through doing, and I couldn't agree more. I learned many great traits along my journey as a caregiver. I am a very patient, calm, and giving person. I enjoy helping my patients with activities of daily living and assisting them with any needs they may have like toileting, transportation, medication reminders, etc. Being a caregiver is a very rewarding job. To be able to help someone makes you feel good about yourself, and the relationships you build along the way make it all worth it in the end . I stared as a caregiver, not knowing anything, to now being a Certified Nursing Assistant, to now working on my nursing degree. I love what I do and take it very seriously. I am an honest, hard working, caring and trustworthy.

I am a young woman.. that loves too give and help.. I'm very responsible and sweet.. I want to give back and pay it forward. At this moment I am between jobs and just waiting on the opportunity to show my skill in value in the work force once more... I have experience with day cares for kids as well as mental Ill, I also lost by grandmother to cancer and I was her help before she passed .. I understand how it feels to need a helping hand . Hello, I am a always a half full glass type person ,dependable ,loyal and caring I was a single mom of 5 there all grown and out on there own .I didn't think I could love anything more than my kids till the grand kids 6 of them .I am a caregiver its just who I am. I have a lot of compassion and respect for our elderly. I Show Sound Judgment and Confident Care. Treat elders with dignity. I feel its a calling not just a job. I feel I am doing something that has a potential to make a difference in someone's life. Caregiving is the ultimate act of love. It is a selfless, generous thing to do, and one that many people wouldn't think about taking on. My personal achievement was being able to care for my husband before he passed away.

I have been a caregiver for the passed ten years and love it. It all started when both of my dad's were being scam and taking advantage. I help take care of both of my dads before they passed away. I have a Criminal Justice Degree and have no criminal record. I love working with elderly people because they are very wise and I have a lot of patience. I treat them like they are like my own family and that's hard to find these days.

I have over 6 years of caregiving experience. I have worked in various places like Hospitals, Nursing homes and in home care. From 1999 to 2005 I was a Certified Nursing Assistant and went to a 2 year college to get my Associates degree in nursing, however due to hardships I did not finish and get my degree. I took a break from nursing for over 10 years to pursue a different career in retail Management. I just recently within the past year decided to get back into care giving/nursing.
