I was eleven yrs old and my grandfather was diagnose with colon cancer. I would spend my summers helping my grandmother care for my grandfather. We did it all, transfers, bathing, changing, distributing of medication and even cleaning of the colostomy bags. Even though some of the care was a little in tense, I recevied joy just knowing I was contributing to his well being. Lets be honest we all have to go down that road one day and I just want the same respect dignity and care that I provide. That was when i decided to be a caregiver. What i like about being a caregiver is that i love helping each client/resident I've ever worked for. Helping the sick/elderly that needs my help gives me happiness knowing im doing my part to help others.
