I have always loved taking care of the elderly. You have to have the heart. I started out by being there for my mom until she left me. Then when I lossed her I said why not take care of others. I hope I be able to have the same done for myself if I be around that long. Honest, Dependable, Trustworthy.. I like to have fun get to know my client. Become friends and have a relationship. I want to deal with geriatrics until I finish undergraduate because I have a lot of patience with older people. I need a slower pace from the hectic rehabs and nursing homes that I have worked at in the past. I'm super clean and calm. I have my own transportation and flexible hours, so hopefully you and I can compromise to give your loved one a clean and healthy home environment.

I am a caring and compassionate nurse aide, very friendly and out going . I am cpr certified and have had a my tb shot. I've worked in several nursing homes, memory care units to total dependent patients. Alongside of being a Home Heath cna. I'm a certified nursing Assistant and have been for 3 years now I comepleted a 6 month course. I'm a quick learner and very easy to adapt to new changes. I'm very understanding and patient. I have just recently quit my job to help care for my dad after open heart surgery in March. But he has recovered and I'm looking to help others. I took care of my grandmother at home in 2014 until she passed and that's where my heart is. Very reliable and flexible. Love to sing, do crafts, read, be outside.

My mother is 86 years old, she is a 13-year cancer survivor, she battles COPD, she has had many surgeries, that has required her children which includes me to change bandages, at one time she required a colostomy bag that had to be changed, and many trips to ER department for different types of emergencies. I am a conscientious person, I like to have things in order in case of emergencies, this way I would not have to be searching for things that are needed immediately. I am dependable and honest. I have worked with children who are in foster care for over a year, many times my heart hurts for the children who are in situations that they can't help. The children did not ask for the things that are happening to them, and just like the elderly, they are weak and vulnerable in many situations. I want to try and help make a small difference in someone's life. Being a caregiver, the most enjoyable thing to me would be to see someone in my care smile, laugh, or just enjoy the day. To see them not have to worry for at least one day. My personal achievement that I am so proud of is that I'm 60 years old, however, in 2017 I finished college with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. I have always regretted not finishing school, I received my GED in 2005. This makes me proud of who I am, and to know that I did it without having to be told to, I did it because I wanted to do this for myself.

In 2009 my mother became sick it took us 3 years to finally get a diagnosis. In that time I took care of her 3 years later we found out she had Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis. I moved her in with me and took care of her 24 hours a day she past away 4 months later and I have felt that being able to help someone is my calling. It warms my heart to make someone's day. Thru the journey with my mom I learned a lot from hospice.

I have understanding that when someone cant do for themselves it weighs a heavey load on their mind a d hearts. Caregiving is all ive really ever done that Im good at since I was preteen, family is who I have cared for most my life but it is something I want to continue in a carreer with. Being able to give someone quality time in helping them still enjoy life even when they cant help themselves and that is important in a persons life. My most achievement in my life has veen when I took care of my grandfather, mother and father when they couldnt take care of themselves anymore and my children.

I am genuine outgoing person with patience and understanding. This allows me to give my clients the care they need with love. I was attracted to being a caregiver from my families background history. My grandmother was a midwife tending to the needs of the community. My mother was nurse, and I became certified nursing assistant to provide professional care to clients in need. I enjoy assisting others during their time of need, and seeing a smile on their face as they realize they have someone who is patient and understanding of them and their conditions. This gives the client reassurance that everything is ok no matter what the situation is. I am proud of completing 4 years of school as an undergrad with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology. I am currently enrolled online to become a Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
