Three years ago my father-in-law became very ill and began developing dementia, at the same time my mother-in-law had just gone through hip surgery. I began staying with them nightly and maintained my daily job. Neither of them had any desire to go into any type of nursing home with strangers tending to them. They were very hesitant as well, to have anyone coming into the home. It was during this time I developed a strong desire to help and take care of them to the best of my ability. I took care of my father-in-law while my mother-in-law recovered from surgery, and held his hand until he took his last breath. I am a natural nurturer and it gives me great joy and satisfaction to take care of someone who cannot take care of themselves alone and are often very reluctant to be cared for outside of their home. I am a very passionate and patient person, and I have a zest for life, as it is so precious and not promised. My children are grown and out on their own now and I lost my husband suddenly in 2014. My desire is to leave an unfulfilling job and begin a rewarding career that will satisfy my heart and soul. Everyone needs a little sunshine, I always have a little in my pocket to sprinkle as needed.
