My name is Kathleen and I have been caring for infants and adults for over 10 years. After graduating High School, my grandmother became ill and needed a full time caregiver. I wasn't sure how I would do but it didn't take long to realize I enjoyed taking care of others. Soon after my children were born I began working at a daycare, so that I would be able to take my children with me to work. I enjoyed taking care of infants and toddlers, but as my children got older and started school full time I decided to apply at an assisted living facility. After working there about 6 months I decided this would be my career path. I took an accredited course to become a certified nurses aide and began working at a skilled nursing facility. I have heard so many memories and stories from my sweet residents, and the joy on their faces make me feel like I am making a difference.

I am 30 years old. I've always loved taking care of any and everybody. I feel that you create a bond with your clients and they should be treated just like you would treat your own family members.

Through all my years I learned how to be a caregiver! I enjoy working as a care giver! My job become priority duties! Make sure daily activities for my client, make sure my family comfortable take care of there love one

I can help relive the old days I live working with the elderly because I love to hear the stories back when they were little and young. I become a caregiver/cna because I know how hard their family member work. I'm proud of myself because I know leaving I did the best to understand my client and left them with a smile in there face when I leave and how happy they get when they see me the morning as soon I step in their house

Caregiving made an impact in my life when my Uncle and Great Grandmother needed help in the last phase of their life. Both at different times came to stay at my home as I tended to their daily needs until passed. Seeing the happiness a little help from a smiling face brought them is something that brings tears to my eyes to this very day. I am a mother to a 5 year old special needs daughter as well. Her daily needs must be met in a more specific way than others. From a very young age caring for those around me has always been a part of my life, and I'd like to make a difference in your daily life as well.

I love seeing smiles on people's faces.If someone is need of help I like to be the one to help them to assure they are happy and ok.I love cooking and cleaning as well as making sure every nutrition is taken in.I like to motivate people the best I can to let them know there potential and what they are capable of. The thing that attracted me to be a caregiver is being able to help someone who has helped someone there whole life and is now struggling to do it now .To be able to put a smile on someone's face and know they are taken care of. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love helping people.I love making sure that my resident is safe and comfortable as well as well taken care of.I also enjoy hearing some of there life stories what they used to do and motivate them to still do some of it . I'm 21 years old, and a have two year old daughter. Started cna work in 2016 had all my class and training and floor hours at the faculty I worked at. Left work when I had my daughter and am just now looking for work again. I enjoy being a caregiver. It's nice to feel like your doing something good for someone.

Hello. I'm Lisa. I've been working as an in home care giver for 10 years. I love working with people and seeing the smiles on their faces when I'm there to help. I first started doing home care through Home Choice Senior Care, which then became Brightstar, in Iowa. After that I went self employed. I have pretty much done everything that could be needed for clients. Cleaning, meal prep, transfers, bathing, bed baths, dressing, feeding, medication reminders, errands or transporting to appointments, even just sitting and visiting or playing card games. Whatever the client needed or wanted. I was trained in CPR through BrightStarCare. They also trained us on various other needs for the elderly.

I have been working as a Nurse Aide for about four months. I completed my training, and am waiting on the results of my state test for my CNA license. When you become a CNA, it gives you the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of people, which is something I've always wanted to do. The job can be very demanding, but it is also very rewarding. The relationships you build with your patients are like no other, and it is a good feeling when you can help your patients feel better. I first thought about becoming a CNA when my grandfather was diagnosed with a terminal illness similar to Parkinson's. Hospice came into our home to care for him when it became too much for us to handle on our own. They were very helpful, and provided him with not only care, but also companionship. Seeing the difference that they made not only for my grandfather, but also for me and the rest of my family, that is what made me want to get into healthcare. I believe that is what makes me a great caregiver. I think about each of my patients as if they are my own family. And if they were, I would want only the best care for them. That is why I always strive to do the absolute best I can to care for my patients.
